Quote: Shame on you folks! This isn't the least bit funny, and the wife looks like she's in complete shock. An honest business man, loved by his wife, and surely loved by the karaoke patrons at that bar lost his life to some nut job.
Nope, sorry, no shame whatsoever.
1) The fact he was a karaoke host is trivial information really, and hence can be mocked without mocking the deceased.
2) As said above, people use dark humour to deal with situations quite often.
3) I unfortunately am very matter-of-fact about death, and it has little impact on me - as such, I don't take offense easily over such things.

Hell if it happened to me I'd want everyone to get drunk & party my death! We had one of our singers die sitting in his apartment by a gang related shooting outside that happened to go through the wall & hit him. We partied like it was 1999 (well it was actually 1998) but it was because he wouldn't have wanted everyone to be down about it. Life goes on, crap happens - DEAL WITH IT!
No it's not something I like to see, but as said, sometimes dark humor can lighten up a bad/sad situation!

a sad situation.
Personally I found the humor offensive. But different strokes for different folks!

In the words of a great comic I once knew, "If somebody isn't offended, I'm not doing my job".

yup, I agree knightshow. I'm a little raw from the loss of two dear women in my life in the last two weeks. Hard not to take THAT to heart amongst the humor.

That's really sad, but it is just coincidental that it had to do with a karaoke host. And the woman did look a bit... heartless about it, imo.
This is WAY off the subject, and I don't mean to be tacky by pointing it out, in light of the tragedy and all... but did anyone else notice what horrible grammar the columnist had? That surprises me.

Doesn't surprise me - a lot of "journalists" seem to have terrible grammar these days. I pick up on it a fair bit, and it amuses me.
Also, for those who are offended... Sorry. I'm not sorry for what I say, because I don't believe in censoring myself, but I am sorry that you found offense in it, and that was not intended. No ill will is directed at anyone
But I do agree with what's said above... Comedy SHOULD offend some people, otherwise it would just be statements.

I didn't actually see the humor either. It is NOT funny at all to me. However everyone is different. My original comments were regarding how NON-EMOTIONAL the wife was, especially after being married only 15 months. I think just like usual, there is MORE to the story.

people greve differently. I thought she looked out of it. I had been less than a day since the shooting, in all likelyhood she was still in shock.
