I provided an answer to the OP's second question as his knowledge of what he needed to do had evolved. See Below (or the actual post above)

Some of the karaoke files on my computer are VLC which are actually AVi files. I can burn them to CD and they work fine on my Karaoke player. Now I guess what I need is a mp3+cdg to AVI converter for the other files?

It has been a while since I used this but I believe this will work for you. If I remember right, it will burn your mp3&g to avi files on a dvd.

First...most standard CD+G Karaoke players will not play mp3+CDG files as you have learned. These files are for software based players. Your's however must support MP3 discs however, as I am surprised you get any audio at all. Also, the discs must be burnt as CD+G discs in order to get graphics. Finally, be sure your CD Burner supports the burning of CD+G discs. Many do not. That is telling him/her what he cannot do but doesnt give any idea what he can do and how...so no you didnt answer the question
OK, I'll play!
Perhaps you didn't comprehend the original post. The OP's confusion and question concerned the lack of graphics on the discs he burnt himself and a general call for assistance. I explained to him that the reason his burnt discs had no graphics is because they were not being burnt as CD+G discs. So, yes, I provided him with the "assistance" he was requesting (Why no graphics?). Note that he did not ask for a software recommendation or a CD+G compatibility site.
I win!

I'll agree with Power CD+G burner but you do not need mp3+g toolz.
If you have both the MP3 file and the CDG file all you have to do is drag your CDG file into Power Burner and burn away.
Power Burner converts the CDG file into a .CDA file and it picks up the MP3 file as it is doing it allowing it to be played on most karaoke players, but not all.
Both the MP3 and CDG files must be located in the same folder and named the same (except for the extension).
Now I think the original question has been answered to it's fullest.

No, you shouldn't have to do anything if you have both files (.MP3 and .CDG) and they are identically named. It should recognize them...after all the name of the program is "Power CD+G Burner".
When you say "it didnt recognize them" what exactly do you mean. What was the message?

You use mp3+g toolz to convert the mp3+g files or zip files whichever the case may be to bin and then you use power cd+g burner to burn the files to cd but making sure that you change the settings in power to session at once and make sure you are set on 1x when burning, and thats all to burning a karaoke cd.
thanks

PowerKaraoke has it's own converter built in. try it before Mp3+GToolZ.

The rules of this forum specifically are not to discuss topics that are hurtful to the karaoke industry. Tim's question was a valid one.
Too many people ask questions here about karaoke formats, and karaoke players... when some of them are indeed purchasers of a hard drive with a player and then don't understand them.
It should be our job to also discuss how and where they got their karaoke tracks.
IN THE PAST it's getting your tracks off your cdgs... nowadays, this isn't the case any more. I myself have bought legit downloads, and I can see where the question HAS merit.

Matt we are not the karaoke police, if the newbie intimates that they have indeed broken the golden rule then we withdraw support...but the abrupt questions fired in an unfriendly manner isnt the way to go about welcoming someone to the forum.

If you reside in the U.S., then, um....no, you haven't. To repeat, even if you downloaded from tricerasofts collection of U.K. based mfrs. (legally licensed there), those tracks are still not legally licensed for digital download HERE. The mfr.s are legal, you are not.
I understand that you have paid for your tracks in good faith, and are not attempting to pirate, but once again, there are no digital download licenses issued for karaoke tracks in the U.S. There is NO such thing as a legitimate downloaded karaoke track in the U.S.
I'm kinda surprised that this is even still being discussed here. The other forums all know it.
Buy the discs, then rip them. Still a gray area, but nobody is pushing it.

You have exactly no idea what you are talking about. You falsely accused Tricerasoft of pirating SoundChoice tracks, called them Tyrannasoft, and have otherwise spouted ridiculous conjecture of all kinds.
