The reason I say give notice is that it is courteous and professional, even if the bar owner is not you should take the high ground and not be pulled down to their level. Let the owner know as you are setting up for the show, they may have you leave there and then, or tell you that after that night it's done. They may have you work the following week, allowing them 2 weeks to secure another host if that's what they want.
When courting the new bar you can be free to explain why you are looking at leaving the first one but again be professional. Bar owners may be competition but they do talk to each other and the potential new venue should appreciate that you would not leave them high and dry, even if it would be more beneficial to you to do so.
Treat them like respectable human beings always but be ready for them to stab you in the back!

I agree with Jonn but holy cow!
I would leave. Sometimes owners just don't realize the investment of time and money karaoke hosts have in their business. And then to be working nights instead of home relaxing (not that I don't enjoy myself at my shows but,,) they need to be part of the solution, not the problem.
