You've been to one of my gigs? I kid, I kid...

But yeah, she was probably just a skank who wanted some fun with the DJ, and he was a rat who "got hold of" some MP3+Gs...

I run karaoke at a few places in my area with my best friend. Although we've been doing this for two years, we've NEVER so much as touched any of our customers or singers. Trust me, it's very hard to resist , at times, but we've been good boys. Up until now.....this kid has shown us that we, too, can get skanky p*ss, just for running karaoke. Too bad you left when you did, you probably missed them singing "Picture" after they got done licking each other's tonsils.

In the famous words of Confederate Railroad, "I like my women a little on the trashy side", but singing "Picture"? That's way over the line. That would induce E.D.

Of course the same Confederate Railroad that liked women on the trashy side, also lamented the fact that "she never cried when Old Yeller died." :newlol:

Kurt ......I have an idea.....Let's discuss putting a quality KJ in there with this new owner. Of course I'm speaking of the one and only "Swingcat Johnson"

Hey I have a couple of idle systems....why not...I mean if you want to sing in your own neighborhood, why not get paid for it.

I had a KJ that worked for me once that used the bar as his personal "Stable" and it got out of hand very quickly. The customers began complaining about the "Live Shows" that he and is choice for the evening would do in front of the whole bar. I had several discussions about it with him but he failed to see that he was doing anything wrong.

I finally got through to him when I suggested that he take one of his "Partners" to his fulltime job and attempt to do the same thing in front of the customers, the office staff, and his boss and see how long he kept his job. Then I gave him a two week suspension from his duties to think about it with the understanding that if it continued he could easily be replaced in a heartbeat. I also told him that in his absence I would be training a replacement just in case he did not think I was serious enough to follow through with it. That way I would have a replacement ready to go at a moments notice I ever caught him in the act again. That did the trick....no more problems.

Unfortunately in this case it sounds like the owner and the bar staff do not care which is too bad.

I sang there alot when Danny and Lady Kat were doing the shows. It was not far from my home back then. They have had some strange characters there since then. I never felt welcome or comfortable with the place after they left.

I arealdy popped in and saw Danny and told him he needed to drop off his packet and get his old gig back. Hopefully he'll follow through.

Now I have little or no use for the place for going somewhere for Karaoke---Ill drive all the way down to Canby(where Charmin is) before Ill go to this place just 3 blocks from my house.

I'd drive down there too if it wasn't 3,000 miles and I could tuck the wife and kid away for a couple weeks. LOL

Seriously though, your story gets me pi$$ed too! All that action and not with me!! :newlol:

Curiously enough---I HAVE KJ'd there before----was one of my first fill-in places---did a few fill-in gigs for LADYKAT when she was first starting to do live blues singing with Sonny Hess and the NW Women in Blues. She pretty soon folded her Karaoke tent and has been doing LIVE blues shows ever since.

You can actually go LISTEN to LADYKAT on THATS KARAOKE webshow show #5 as one of the featured singers from Portland.

Here's a promo photo I shot of her:
