I'm a fan of setting up an access point and letting them surf the information. Why should I bring kiosks when half the people there have devices that can surf a wireless access point? And once they get the song they want - why not have them text you the requests? Comes in from their phone number.

Between the avant garde camera angles, the indian sounding trance background music, and the camera person suffering from what I assume to be an advanced case of Parkinson's disease, I found myself reaching for Dramamine pills about a minute twenty into it.
From what I did manage to watch of it, it looks like a giant pain in the (@$%!).

Sorry for the lack of production quality in the video. Me and my buds do this as a labor of love.
It's pretty easy once it's setup. Everything, including bumper music is automated in my setup. Last night while the singers sung, and the software ran things I sat in a corner of the bar with my soldering iron and electrical tape repairing some XLR cables.
Other nights I check ID and get paid for being both kj and doorman.
Not sure what the track is. I just tuned in an internet radio station and hit record.

Seriously.. it seems like maybe some people try and over engineer/over think a solution.
If singers trying to slide in under bogus names just to get called up is a problem, then simply have the slips print at the kiosk and let the singers bring the printed slips up to you as they would the traditional method.. or better yet.. don't print slips at all.
Simply use the kiosk as a quick way for singers to search quickly for a specific songs availability.
Membership cards, fingerprint scanning, jeeze.
Why do you have to be so subjective? To each his own. Jeeze, (or however it's spelled)
I like gizmos, gadgets. If it works, great.

Ok, now I have to critcize. I want a human being up there with some warmth running things. Too Terminator like!

It works. It's warm enough. it has an amazing array of audio tools making things sound cherry. You can watch it over the web too.

Agree. I want someone up there running the sound, no amount of automation is going to dial someone in. Plus it's nice to see a host near the singer at least giving encouragement instead of soldering.

You would be very discouraged at my shows then lonman, but I would make up for it by giving you a hug.
no reacharounds though.

Any idea when the software will be updates to work the the latest release of Winamp?
Is the singer history functionality fixed?
Just curious... I've been looking at the software and wondering...

I just run a stripped down version of WA 5.24. That was the last version touched by Justin Frankel. After that it just sort of got bloated.
