Other than Christmas and the special Elvis Section, I haven't printed anything seperate from the main books. But I do code the songs in Excel for Duet/Holiday/Kid/Patriotic/Religious and all sorts of other categories so I could pull out a duets list or kids clean list or other specialities in the future. Which reminds me--we do have seperate kid show books.

I have always printed my books with Last Name, First Name because that is the way the fasttracks database has everything listed.. I'm not going to spend the time changing everything to make a few people happy.

Most of my singers were smart enough to figure it out and I always helped those who couldn't.. :)

I do have separate printed books for the few events I have done for my church tho.

I'm in the process of readying a list to print, so far have whittled down a 98 page songlist to 95 pages. close to 8000 songs without dupes. I am changing stuff like song titles so they will match, unless they are two different versions of the song (I have the slow ballad and the fast tempo versions of Amazed) and artist names to match in the last name first since most of them are in that format.

Thanks for all the responses thus far. While I'm thinking on the topic... Do any of you create a special category for Duets, Musicals, Irish music, Christmas music, etc.?

Used, got to be too much of a pain in the as, especially the duets when a company would list the two artists that did the song, but only be the main one singing with the 2nd singer already recorded. I quit catagorizing a few years back. Nobody seemed to really care when I stopped, that isn't where they were looking.
If I were to do it again, i'd only list duets but in it's own book that I could let someone look at when they ask - what's a good duet?
