Hey Tom,

I'm gonna admit, I only have a few of your disks. But 1587 is one of the holy grails of my 2000+ disk collection. That being said, we NEED more 90's alt/punk, ie Bad Religion, Rancid, Social Distortion, Sublime and the like. More currently, bands like Flogging Molly and the Dropkick Murphys need a better representation.

Hey which disc is 1587? Appreciate it!

Why don't you guys assemble a disc with a theme to it, like an "ALT 90s" disc...say pick 9 songs everyone can agree on. I'll see what I can do..

Tom

1587 is the Eminem double disk. LOTS of tracks in this set are exclusive to Pocket Songs. Not an easy disk to find either.

If I had to nominate three songs for the disk:
Time Bomb - Rancid
Caress Me Down - Sublime
Ring Of Fire - Social Distortion

But, seriously, ANYTHING in the genre would be a bonus! This is the music that the newly legal drinking age grew up with! Thanks so much for the response Tom!

I don't use I-Tunes either because of the lack of lyrics.

Any of these Gordon Lightfoot tunes and if you happened to do a disc of them I'd be all over it.

Protocol
Seven Island Suite
Softly
Circle Of Steel
The Watchman's Gone
Is There Anyone Home
The House You Live In
Too Many Clues In This Room

Or if you wanted to make a folksinger disc with any other male or female folksingers that would be great too -- Suzanne Vega, Harry Chapin, Jim Croce or heck even John Denver just to make the wife happy.

Nice list Lonnie. I was shocked that Marky Mark's "Good Vibrations" was on it -- that has been a fairly popular dance song for a lonnnnnng time now. I'd definitely second that one.

I don't believe Karaoke Version is a legal source for commercial use so I won't use them. I may be wrong, but nothing there has shown me otherwise.

Would love anything new from the first 3 CD's of the Stone Temple Pilots.

"Heaven Beside You"
"Over Now"
Or anything else not already done by "Alice in Chains" would be great especially "Down in a Hole".

Wow Lon, I have that disc with "Plowed" by Sponge and it also has "Signs" by Tesla on SC and they're both great versions, can't believe it's not available anymore. Plowed is one of my favorites songs to do. Rudy.

I have It's Tricky by Run DMC on SoundChoice 8875. That disc isn't discontinued, is it?

That disc also has Just a Friend by Biz Markie and the Humpty Dance by Digital Underground, which are in pretty steady rotation at my show. Good disc!

There is a guy who does It's Tricky it every week and SUCKS, but keeps doing it. He isn't getting any better either!!

This is what I found at karaoke-version.com, which, if I'm not mistaken, is part of Tency Music, in France, or maybe it's the other way around. I found them to be easy enough to do business with, and they did answer my email when I clicked their their contact link with a question about licensing. Whether or not these same rules apply to CDG or MP3G, I don't know, because they only mention soundtracks. Since they have nearly 27,000 backing tracks available, I would guess that there is their main business.

Use for public events
We are happy to allow the use of our soundtracks for public audiences and other performances.
However, we'd like to remind you that in order to be legally compliant, you must receive an official agreement from your national music rights management office (MCPS in the UK for example).
In the case of a non-commercial private event, use of soundtracks is, of course, allowed and unrestricted.

Other uses (Recording/Streaming/Broadcasting...)
Recording rights of our soundtracks is not included in the price.
