Brian & Earl, I am sorry if I offended you. Actually, I started out ok, but then my mind kinda fell off the curb a bit. I'm kinda a self-proclaimed clown on here(5 years), and yes, I sometimes have a raw humor. Now I usually use terms, and abbreviations, that take a dirty mind to fully understand, and I remember BJ & Dirty Dragon, and BJ & The Bear, and many things the two letters could mean.
Once again, I am truly sorry, and will not comment like that again in your posts. I hope your New Year, and your party turn out fantastic........JR

ps....I can't retract it, because it was quoted, but I hope there is no further discussion warranted........welcome to the forums

JR, I admire your honesty. It takes a strong man to admit when he’s wrong. It takes an even stronger man to work and try to fix his mistakes and make them right. As far as I'm concerned, no apologies necessary, and thanks for being humble.

Thanks Chief.

All of my shows end with everyone up on the floor... I hand out all five microphones, and we do two or three fun songs to end the night (Lion Sleeps Tonight... Bad Moon Rising... Drift Away... I Saw The Light... etc.) So, I think I'll throw in "We Are The World" this Thursday.

Thanks again for the welcome Brian.... er Chief.

Cheers

Earl

More songs to consider at the end of the night - We Are Family, Here For The Party, Celebration

Ha! JR you are still the source of the best laughs I could ever hope to get on a karaoke forum. Thanks for always being there, buddy.... <<<hugs>>> LOL

Ditto.,, be yourself Mr Reverb. Not the worst thing I've seen on here. Next we'll be as formal as DJForum. No thanks!

Still plenty of good info within this group.

i'm not sure if his last name will offend anyone but Joe Cocker's get by with a little help of my friends, and there's usually someone to do the solo scream in the middle.

And karaoke roulette would work where you get some funny cliched songs that for a reward might get them a drink or bump in the line.

Well, we ended up with 45 singers... not a record, but not far off. We decided to make every performance a duet, with duet partners being drawn from a hat.... and that worked really well. The pizza was right on time, and some other folks brought pastry & munchies. Everyone got glow-sticks, and everyone got to sing at least twice. All in all, a really successful evening.

Cheers

Earl

I have NEVER seen 45 singers at my karaoke show. (not a KJ, just a lowly singer, Lol)

But I'd probably pout if there were, cause I'd have to wait too long to sing.

Glad to hear your night went great!

In addition to the regular rotation, by drawing the duet partners from a hat, one never knew when he/she would be called up, or who they would be singing with. That actually added a big element of fun to the night.

We usually have between 30 & 35 singers... but last night was pretty special... with several new faces, and some who only pop by a couple of times a year. The thing is... if ALL our "regulars" were there, we'd have had close to 60...

Including non-singers, we must have had close to 75 or 80 people there... or about 30 more than normal... and that made the club pretty happy.

As noted... we almost tied the record ... just one short of the 46 that was set a couple of years ago during our town's Dragon Boat race week.

Happy New Year Everyone.

Earl
