I’m a kj. People like to sing songs they’re familiar with & songs that have special meaning or sentiment to them. Primarily, they’re there to entertain themselves through singing. Secondary, it’s the audience. I owe them this gig. As far as I’m concerned they can sing any song their heart desires, be it “American Pie, Hotel Calif, PbtdL, even that song My Way from the man with a funny comb over”.

My job is to keep MORE PEOPLE COMING BACK, than are leaving, and NEVER COMING BACK. If that requires some tough rules on horrible song selections ....so be it.
