I love the "I know the owner" one, to which I always reply, "75% of the people in here know the owner. I know the owner, am I up next?"

Unfortunately for me, if it is a cute girl under 30, without fail the owner will come up and tell me to let her up next. I always announce that he made me do it, though!

That is why I always tell the owner/manager I negotiate the price and conditions with for a new show, that the rotation is my business, NOT anyone's elses, including owner/manager. You hire me to run a Karaoke show, I know what I'm doing, rotation order is set for a good reason, I don't tell you how to mix your drinks, you don't tell me who sings next.
Ever since I started doing this, I had no problem with owners / managers, even when THEIR best friend complains that I won't bump then.

You probably read this when I posted it a few months back. It’s the best & by far top of my list. I’m in the middle of a 32 singer rotation.

Singer: Late 20’s good looking, a little inebriated: Oh please, please, let me sing next. If you let me sing next I’ll show you my t*ts
Me: (I probably didn't put the words in the proper order) Lady, it’s a long list, but let me see; meaning let me check & see if I can insert your name within the rotation. This was the part where it got lost in the translation: Her presumption from my reply was Ok, let me see 'em, as in let me see your t*ts now!

Singer: Lifted her blouse/bra up to her neck & exposed a nice perfect pair, gave a little shake here & there. Audience were stunned, guys whistling, yelling “turn around”, all they saw was her back, her front towards me, fully exposed, they definitely know what just happened.
Singer: Well, don’t just stare. Say something! Now, can I sing next?
Me, after I recovered my jaw dropped to the floor: Sorry, lady but my answer is still NO.
Singer: Stormed out “You’re such an a$*h*l*e!”
