Knightshow, I'm speaking for myself and no one else's comments. The actions and the words don't jive. Like I said, I'm always quick to forgive, no one on this earth is perfect, least of all me. But call it a gut feeling. I have my reasons why I won't trust him again. If the discrepancies I noticed were kept to myself, I think I'd do us all a big disservice. It's up to y'all to make your own determinations.

I'm sorry if you want to leave this site because we're expressing our views about this situation. I, for you, would not like to see you go. You were the first one who welcomed me here. Not everyone is going to agree all the time. Yes, he apologized. Maybe it's for real. Maybe it's not. Time will tell.

Please reconsider. I like you very much and don't want to see you leave.

I don't feel anyone was fighting here. What was the fight about? The discussion was about a discrepancy and a person not responding with an reasonable explanation. This site is great because people care! They feel they can say what's on their minds! Love Dona

Ok, I'll make a couple observations....

Problem: Someone submitted the original tune as their own not once, but twice.
Response: Ok, it can happen. If you listen to the original in an attempt to study and recreate as much as possible yourself. Mistakenly submitting as your recording - easy enough to do, especially if you're new to computers and/or recording. If the two were submitted close together it makes the likelihood of this happening that much greater.

Problem: Singer insist that they sung the song.
Response: Um, ok. Perhaps this was a HUGE mistake. Maybe they didn't listen to the sub right after they sent it, but the minute someone asked me I'd make sure it was mine by going and checking before I said - yep, it's me!

Problem: Do you trust them on future submissions?
Response: It's up to you. Think about the first time you used a computer and tried to submit a song (Hi, Tigger!). It was frustrating dealing with file sizes, which song is your recording, which one is the original (especially if named similar), etc.

Personally, I don't find it necessary to hold a grudge against this person. They admitted they made a mistake. They can't change the replies the same way you can change the comments (I've tried). While I may be wary of future submissions by them I'm sure they'll double check anything they post in the future and insure it's theirs beforehand.

Ok, maybe they thought they could pull a fast one and build respect and ratings by submitting the original work of someone they didn't think we'd recognize. Maybe my submissions are really some guys at a local show that I send in and I can't carry a tune in a bucket with a lid on it (they aren't - I really do sound that bad!). Either way, I'm here to listen to other people sing, better myself based on the feedback presented, and generally have fun. If ratings, comments, and perfection are that important to you then it must be pretty darn lonely.... last 'perfect' person I know of died about 2000 years ago.

The preceeding has been the ravings of an escapee from a mental institution... give them whatever weight you wish....

And Knightshow is correct. If I wanted to watch petty bickering and fighting I can watch wrestling or go to any number of a couple thousand other forums on the 'net.
