My thoughts exactly, but just in case I wanted to point that out. It won't be the first time that someone rants about the english skills of another user without checking out first where is he from. Actually, I've updated my location info recently for that reason, because I know that sometimes I make it hard to understand what the heck I'm saying

Don't forget: To: as in going to someplace. Too: As in also.
I don't mind "goin' as in: I'm goin' to the store. I can handle that one, or many of the words that drop the "g". Goin', singin', lovin', etc...

Quote: I also think the word "Barmaid" is rather outdated and sexist. Most female bartenders I know prefer to be called "Bartender", which to me sounds much more respectful and professional. We just call them wenches up here. One of our ex-Prime Ministers from French speaking Quebec, Jean Chretien, mangled the English language. I told my French relatives they were lucky they could understand him when he spoke French (his native language) and they replied that he mangled French also.

Well, I'm slow but I'm old. I did figure out who Earl is referring to. So not a matter of texting, or internet slanguage, just plain sloppy English and most likely from US.
I will still not judge them/him/her by that but more by some of the garbage being posted.

Excellent point. I believe that most of us here are able to recognize those that you refer to, and we DO make allowances for that. Thanks, Cue!
