For many eating cake is very enjoyable, but I have never enjoyed the sickenly sweet frosting that most cakes have on the top. If the sugar gets everyone cranked up (gotta remember my shows are "Oldies" shows) then bring on the cake ..... but leave me out of it.

I with the guy who posted about the sugar and alcohol combo... not for me thanks.
I find it funny that people will come to a public show with their party and act as if THEY hired the entertainment.
Using cake as a metaphor for respect shown the Host/KJ clearly illustrates the disconnect in the show-goers' minds.

Never been offered cake when KJ'ing but I was offered a fag once by a woman coming up to sing a duet with me as she was smoking when she came up to the stage she asked me if I wanted one so I said yes.

There have also been times when either a patron or management brought in pizzas for everyone (the places are smaller around here). Missing out on that one is a killer.

My Friday night place buys pizza on occasion, and the owner always offers me some. I guess things are different around here.
