I don't play any Christmas music before Thanksgiving. But after that I play a lot as fills - many rock and Motown songs, upbeat. And a lot of Christmas songs get done in karaoke, maybe a dozen in tonight's show (12/13/14). That number will go up in this week's shows. Then it's all back into the vault. (Thankfully, nobody has demanded Alvin and the Chipmunks - yet. And the whole bar will join together to sing Robert Earl Keene's "Merry Christmas from the Family" - every year.)

I don't 'play' any until after T-Giving - after that I have about 500 X-Mas songs that go into my regular fill music rotation so it's not ALL X-mas music but only an occasional song. I would not stop someone from singing it any time of year, they are always listed in the books and are as free reign as any other song, luckily 99.99999% never sing Xmas outside of the time, but do get some done in the summer time for jokes or dares.
