whoa wait a minute....I just called my other KJ and he said that I did use this shelving unit but the space above it was empty. The unit with feet measures a full 2" high so it will not occupy only 1 space, it's more like 1-1/2 spaces.

So if you have the extra room it will work. If not it would not be an option for rackmount purposes.

Sorry, it's been a while since I have seen that unit as it is in a semi-permanent setup.

No they are punch formed in the metal bottom. There are little rubber inserts that would take maybe 1/8 of an inch off...but that would not be able to make enough difference.  :O

Right after JDrifter said that he was going to buy it today I said...hmmm I better pull my spare out of the gig box and see how tall it was. It's been about a year since I have had that rack system back in my shop so I decided to give my KJ a call and he confirmed it occupies 1-1/2 of the top 2 spaces on my 10 space rack.

I'm glad I called!! LOL
