One week on from losing our dog the weirdest thing has occured.
I got out of the car this afternoon after going to the supermarket and there on the driveway was a black cat.
Of course I spoke to it, as I do all animals...she followed me inside, went to every area that our dog used to lie (the area in the living room where her basket used to be, the area by our bed where her bed used to be...she seemed to acknowledge these places (our dog used to chase any cats that dared to set foot on her ground).
She made herself totally at home for a couple of hours, with a snack and a drink of milk...then decided it was time to go outside.
Husband arrived home from a days climbing to find her sitting waiting on the back step...he didnt realise we had already been introduced.
So in she came again and had a little more to eat and spread a little more love then went away again just before we had dinner.
She has just arrived back again to check up on us before leaving I guess to go back to her own home.
Its weird, none of us are cat people...yeah I know the whole thing bout witches and black cats...thing is, a witch's familiar can be any animal at all...yet here this little black cat just marches into our lives to spread a little love...lying on the carpet, chin between paws looking up at me just like my dog used to and in exactly the same place while I prepared dinner...reincarnation?

Aside from that she seems very happy in her new home.

yes she has moved in...I have checked the local radio stations for their lost pets list and no black cat has been listed.

Hey Laura...I didnt name her she answers to black cat
and an update...I was going to get her speyed but needed to know that we could call her ours before spending the money. So I went knocking on neighbourhood doors.
It appears there was a woman in a couple of houses down from us who went into hospital 3 weeks ago with a premature birth.
She has two other young children who simply dote upon this cat so how can I possibly keep her?
We will love her and look after her until its time for the family to return from the city
