Every time I sing a song, it is the BEST that I can do. How is that ARROGANT???? I didn't say it is THE BEST SONG out there. I said it was only MY BEST. You try so hard to find something wrong in whatever I say that you forget to READ properly. I didn't comapre myself to anyone else. I compared myself to ME. When I get a new song I may have no idea how it is supposed to be sung. I gradually get better at it as I rehearse it over and over until I feel that it the BEST that I can do. Then it is ready for a public display whether that be on SingersShowcase or at a Karaoke show. Never did I say I sing it PERFECTLY or better than anyone else, MISTER KNOW IT ALL. I strive to improve all of the time on my singing. Some people will never improve on their singing. REMIND YOU OF ANYONE????

I think my best song is Kenny Chesney's Living In Fast Forward but I get a better response when I do Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.

You post on a public forum that Vicki sounds like a warlock, and now you have a problem with the fact that i disagree?
Are you absolutely sure that you want to start you BS with me, make sure you do, cause it's gonna get real ugly, real quick! Ron

It's funny how numerous people on this thread can claim that they have a hard time picking their ONE favorite song because they have so many that they sing well and NO ONE has a problem with that......but as soon as I say that my NEXT song is my BEST song. the two instigators have to chime in with their Sarcastic PUH Lease!!! comments. I hear new songs all of the time and I look forward to learning how to sing them. Once I feel that I have practiced a song to the point where I know it very well; I feel that it is my new BEST song. I never said that my BEST song is better than anyone else's. I don't like to keep singing the same songs all of the time. To me it's like reading the same book over and over. It seems like a waste of time to me but I understand that some people are different than I am when it comes to learning new songs and that is fine. My original comment in this thread was no different than saying that my favorite beer is my Next Beer but two people that look for any reason to criticize me felt the need to leave their snide little comments and then when I go after them; their "fluff buddies" come out of the woodwork to defend them. I look forward to my NEXT BEST song and if anyone has a problem with it; that's just too bad. If you don't want to get verbally slapped; you shouldn't start what you can't finish.

As far as getting ugly is concerned....LOL It's a singing site, Ron. Get over yourself.[/quote

So now you are accusing me of lieing for a friend just because I said Vicki is a good singer, it's not a lie. Matter of fact I hate liars, and I know you are one. So when I disagree with your comments, I'm a "fluff buddy",so lets talk about what you are besides a liar.
How about several weeks ago when Vicki's dog passed away which she mentioned on the singers forum. You mentioned her dog, then laughed knowing of her loss. You denied knowing anything about that, and then the very next day you subbed a song about that very thing, and laughed the whole time. So besides the fact that you are a liar, you don't even have the balls to admit your ugly deeds.
Since then, I've noticed some of your posts, and it's obvious that you are one pathetic individual. Maybe you should get a job, so you won't have so much time at being a little weasal sitting behind his computer spewing venom.
Just like several weeks ago when the newbie asked a simple question, and then you pounced on him, making accusations simply because he had bought his software before he bought his first cdg. Who the hell do you think you are? No wonder some of the newbies don't come back after an attack like that. If it were me, I would have told you to go (@$%&#!) yourself.
You are obviously one miserable, pathetic, individual who just thrives on confrontation, and ugliness. Believe me it's no secret here.
Yes its a singing site, which should be fun, and informative. It shouldn't be a platform where you have free reign to attack people, and make nasty crude comments about how they sing.
If I want to make a positive comment on someones singing here, thats my business, you have nothing to say about it...got it! Ron

Dittos on that ! When Vicki sings I feel like she's making love to me thru song, I can't wait for my new vacation to come up, as I have a lot of pent up frustration in that regard. Are you gonna be ready for this big man when I get there Vicki? Ron

good grief is there an arguement going on about me that I'm not involved in? I must be losing my touch
Ron honey I would be ready for you anytime you wanna hop a plane. As to sounding more like a warlock...actually that has its advantages, I can certainly get lower than a lot of men. But mr sour must get twisted up inside to know that this warlock gets booked and gets paid to sound like this :) so really he can say what he wants, I'm still smiling

But thank you Ron and Babs for standing up on my behalf, tis much appreciated

Probably "jingle bells" I guess........ ;)

lol

I would have to have someone else answer that, someone who listens to me a lot.... cause I would probably just pick my "favorite" song, which would not necessarily be my "best".

Not really even sure why I posted here, matter of fact:)

(oh yeah, , I need points.... )

CHARMIN"s BEST SONG----is "ALL JACKED UP".
Hands down with no competitor.
(especially when she sings it dressed up like the cutest little POCAHONTAS for Halloween) :D :D :D

what I dont get broose is why you would go out of your way to upset and alienate nice folk...why would you bring Andy into this?
See if this were simply a personality conflict between you and I or between you and Matt, I could perhaps understand your attitude. But you start throwing names about in a derogatory sense just for the hell of it.
Personally I believe you put the fluff stamp on anyone who attempts to say something positive to people. Here on Singers Showcase people dont need to be brilliant, yet if I listen and there is a vast improvement as their confidence grows, then who are you to say it is wrong for me to tell them that is the best I have heard from them to date? If I tell someone I enjoyed my listen then I enjoyed my listen...no more no less...how is that fluff?
Your entire attitude suggests you need to go and get your meds checked.

Nah, I've just been busy... a few too many irons in the fire right now. Works busy, home life is busy, and I've got some personal things going on. That's all.

I'll be back to my regularly scheduled orneryness in no time at all:)

I bring Andy into this because she brings out more Fluffing than just about any "singer" on this site. She is the William Hung Poster Child of The Singers Showcase and you people really lay it on thick whenever she puts up a song. If someone who wasn't familiar with the goings on of this site read some of the stuff that you people write about her, they would be shocked once they listened to her. They would think that you were all crazy....or deaf. Does the truth have ANY PLACE on this web site? There are plenty of very good singers on this site who deserve the very nice compliments that they get but when you give the same compliments to someone who is completely tone deaf, you devalue whatever compliments you gave to the people who can actuallt sing and you lose all credibility to any outside observer. You claim to hate political correctness in any form yet there is nothing more politically correct than telling a lousy singer that she is a great singer or that she has done a great job singing a particular song when she has butchered it. Because I won't lie to people about their lousy singing, I get the heat from the people who do. I'm the one who refuses to be politically correct here and I get slammed for it. So be it. I can take it....but I can also dish it out in return. I've had people tell me that my singing sucks in the last week or so and I have had someone tell me that my singing is nothing more than Flatulence. I can handle anyone's opinion of my singing without crying all of the way to Phil to complain about it; even if it's an out and out lie. I don't tell the people that listen to me on a regular basis to boycott other singers who speak poorly of me. It's not that important to me. I don't need people who would rather lie than tell the truth commenting on my singing. I'm happy getting fewer comments that are honest than getting dozens of comments strictly because I lied to them and told them that they were great singers when they are not. I listen to who and what I like and I leave a comment when I like something I hear. Some days I just listen to a lot of songs without leaving any comments because I'm just not in the mood to type out my feelings(unlike tonight) If you don't want my attention, don't criticize me for no other reason than to take a cheap shot at me. I hadn't posted a negative comment about anyone's singing in years but you had to leave a disparaging comment about me based on a comment I may have left years ago in a thread that had nothing to do with leaving comment sof any sort. It's like you were waiting years to take a pot shot at me and you jumped at it. Now, you are certainly entitled to do whatever you want to do but be prepared for the backlash. I don't often ignore the personal attacks against me and sometimes other people get caught in the verbal crossfire. I had been ignoring the singing submissions of people like Andy for years until you felt the need to take a shot at me so I took a shot at your hypocrisy. I had to use someone as an example and she was the best one here. If you wanna tell what you perceive as the truth about me, then you should be truthful about everyone but you can't do it, can you?

BTW I never said you couldn't sing on key, but most "women" sing in a much higher one. I'm happy for you that you get paid to sing. There is an audience for just about anything in today's world. There's an Elvis impersonator around here that gets hired to be laughed at more than he gets hired to sing.

while you are getting your meds checked you might ask the doc for a cataract test as well because your vision is so narrow as to make you almost blind.

I think you have expressed yourself in such a way as to leave no-one in any doubt as to the type of person you are. And if people like to read through your comments to other people they will see you as guilty of exactly what you are attacking me for.
As for me waiting years to take a stab at you, if you wish to pad your ego with false hopes that I sit and wait for an opportunity to gain your attention, then dream on little boy :) if it makes you feel like an almost man to think that way, meantime perhaps someone should have told you mommy to sew up that hole in your trouser pocket, perhaps if that had been done in time, you wouldnt be the little owner/operator you are now :)

There are insults and then there is constructive criticism. Are you helping someone or commenting negatively with no regard for the persons feelings?

I'd say how you comment in Singer's showcase definately shows a persons character.

Sure sometimes it is like trying to be encouraging to man in a running race with one leg. The point being is why tear someone down for trying. They are doing their best and you should applaud them for trying. If you have a suggestion that might help them, you say it in a way that won't hurt their feelings while still trying to be encouraging.

Sometimes you just have to tell someone that they're wasting their time. Do you encourage a blind person to become an interstate trucker?

When you call someone ARROGANT, What are you saying about them? According to Webster's Dictionary it means that you think that the person is full of unwarranted pride...and since you typed PuHLEASE after I typed that my best song is my next song, you must have thought that I was being "unwarrantly" proud of myself. My statement had nothing to do with me bragging about my singing being better than anyone else so how does PRIDE or ARROGANCE enter into this discussion???? IT DOESN'T !!!! It's just you imagining a boogie man where there is none.

Wow, Brucefan, you seem like one seriously bitter dude.
I'm new to this site, but have heard a few singers showcase submissions, including a really cool jazz interpretation of a pop tune that Morgan did. I personally think she sounds more like Diana Krall/Gabriella Cilmi than a warlock.
There will naturally be more positive than negative comments left on a board like this, I'd guess. That doesn't make them insincere. And anyway, why does it piss ya off so much ? Did someone fail to praise your heartfelt rendition of the William Shatner version of Mr Tambourine Man or something?

Back to the topic, I think it's difficult to choose a 'best' song, which is all I was gonna say originally.(slowly backs out of thread)
