Ah cool, still in production. Why were Pioneer songs better? I mean, Pioneer - a company known for electronics...?
Financial reasons?

Financial reasons? The music was musically alot closer to the original songs on a good majority of their stuff.

I have all the Pioneer CDGs and notice that upon initially starting them up they are MUCH, MUCH quieter than any other brand. Anybody else notice this?

A lot of the oldies on Supercore are the Pioneer stuff, from what I understand. They are quite good quality. Some, like "Born To Be Wild", "Johnny Angel", and "Brandy", are better than SoundChoice or DK. Others, not so much, though they are all pretty good.

Nothing that a short push up of the music channel won't cure.

absolutely.
Although "The Rose" was NOTORIOUSLY quiet... there were times I was tempted to say, "Why NO I DON'T have that one..."

Me too, only not because of the quiet factor, it was just done to death. Now luckily (or unluckily :c) ) it may be heard once every few months or more.

Yes, the Rose is definitely quiet. Also, I Finally Found Someone and You and I. Thank goodness The Rose has lost its popularity.

Never had I Finally Found You sung. You & I last time I think was in the mid 90's so can't remember the quiet factor. Heart Of Rock & Roll is a pretty quiet song that requires alot of eq'ing as well - Pioneer did a handful that did need some heavy eq'ing. Once eq'd, sounds pretty good.
