If he answers here, then everyone would have the information in case someone else wanted to drop in for a surprise as well. All I did was ask for some information. and the two "ladies" just couldn't wait to criticize my attempt to find said information. I thought that a forum was a place to ask questions for everyone to learn something from but MY QUESTIONS, apparently, are supposed to be asked in private? It's not liked I asked him if he STILL beat his girlfriend. I asked a simple question in a thread the HE STARTED about one of his shows.

"Chartreuse" is a tough word to spell correctly. In fact, so is the word "karaoke". What I would advise is buying a domain name (they're less than $10 a year) and forwarding it to your MySpace page. That way you can get an easy to remember name not limited by what's available on MySpace and use it in your advertising and promotion. For instance SingWithJoe.com is available.

As I've said before (over the years)... IMO, Internet Search Engines are only as good as the person using them. If they are too broad in their search field (such as typing the word "Karaoke"), they will get too much information, and if they are too specific in their search field, they might not get anything at all. Even when you put the right amount of information (like I think I did... "Joe Chartreuse Karaoke"), you still get a lot of sites that may not be helpful.

Fair is fair here... I singled out some people in your defense, but something you included in your own defense (even tho I know you meant it as an abstract example... I won't repeat the quote) was somewhat uncalled for on your part just now (because of what it could imply).

Joe could use this Forum to link to his sites via his profile but he choose not to. That is the reason why I suggest using the PM and not to 'force' him to post about it.

"Do you still beat your wife/significant other" is a classic example of a loaded question. It is really a cliche that is often used as an example of a question that tries to assume that someone at one point did, in fact, beat their other half. I was just trying to make a point that I was not asking Joe a question that would some how insult him in any way. I was not trying to infer anything negative about Joe. I was only trying to compare my innocent question to one that might have been inappropriate. I have no idea if Joe has a girlfriend or a wife. I was just pointing out that I wasn't asking that type of question at all. I was asking where his shows were and people jumped all over it.

Every once in a while I come here to just read some of the posts in the forum and forget to log in. I thought Joe might see the request here before he might see it in a PM, and quite frankly, I didn't think my request for his venue information was out of the ordinary as far as questions on this site are concerned. I've often seen similar questions posed by people who might be traveling and are looking for a place to sing. If Joe wanted to keep the information a secret, I guess he could have responded to me in a PM?

Whew! Who knew this would cause such a ruckus??? The answer to your listing link question is....kinda, right now.
Normally, some of my listings are on www.karaokelistings.com as well as several other free sites for NJ karaoke.
However, I am in transition ( and resting ) right now, and will have to update after the holidays. My Wednesday ( a 6 year show) will be changing to a different venue ( same owners) in January. I am working a 6 week Wed. stint for another host until then.
Jalapeno's ( a 5 year show) just re-opened a few weeks ago as a Greek restaurant under the same owner, and I re-start in January.
The place I just left will be replaced By the Iron Horse in January.
I start Charlie Brown's on Saturdays in January
My Sunday isn't listed because it rotates between 3 bars ( same owners)
I normally work five days per week. However, there are 8 Charlie Brown's in my area all owned by the same people, and I will be rotating Thursdays with the other ones, if all works out.
So, for the month of December, I'm only working 2 bar nights per week, but am filling in with private holiday parties. Besides word of mouth, I managed to get on the preferred vendor list of a 4 banquet room facility ( Maggiano's in Hackensack). With the holiday parties, I am actually having a better financial month than if I worked 5 nights with no parties. A dam good December!
Anyway, I hope this clears up any questions ( though probably not for Bruce ) and I should be updating all in January. Thank you all for your interest and support!
Just for the heck of it, I Googled, Yahooed, Cuiled, and ASKed myself, and seem to be easily found...?

Okay, I read your post more than once and it is still unclear to me exactly where your two current weekly shows are located. It looks like you have a Wednesday fill in gig for 6 weeks but you don't mention where it is. You also stated that you rotate three different venues on Sunday nights and you don't list any of them either. This particular thread is all about one of your shows dying and you want to blame it on the bar/restaurant owner for not wanting people to know that they have karaoke at his "classy" establishment yet you seem hesitant to let people know exactly where your gigs are as well...... or is it that you just don't want me to show up? ;c)

Oh Bruce, I just knew I shouldn't have bothered, as noted in my last post I knew YOU wouldn't be happy, or not get what was going on.
The answer to the important part of your post was given a long time ago in the "Embarrassment" thread. The venue, called Villa Roberto, was posted on line at that and other sites. That's how Cueball found the venue and came to see me ( and sing some of the funniest stuff I've ever heard, and quite well.)
MY singers knew I was there, came for me, and were put off by the staff. The question of ADDITIONAL people only came up because I mentioned that the restaurant, in their snobby brilliance, didn't want to let anyone know I was there, including their own customers. It wasn't a lack of people, it was the attitude behind the thought that was passed from staff to customer. The listings have nothing to do with any of this, ok?
If it's easier for you, talk to Cueball. He will explain in person....
It's not just you, either. So much ruckus about nothing... The gig's gone- next....
So yes, it was listed, and no, that had nothing to do with the problem.
Howzabout clicking to the next thread. If anyone monitors this board, as the author of this thread I request it be closed. The situation of the original post has been resolved, and the thread has de-railed.
