$275 for reconditioning/repair? Ok, thanks, change of plans. No way I'm going to pay that. I'd chuck it into the trash first. Better to just bite the bullet and pay the $150-$300 for a new pro grade machine and move on.

problem for me is, I've not seen ONE machine that's out on the market currently other than the V555 or v888 players I'd consider Pro Grade.

That was the problem we were having--nothing was getting good reviews on reliability. We had the old Pioneer anyway. It had broken years ago and we had been told it couldn't be fixed or wasn't worth it but after the Vocopro fiasco I googled and found the guy in Washington. Seemed better to have an old repaired Pioneer than some of the new stuff out there. It wouldn't be worth it to pay a lot for one on Ebay and then repair it but if you come across one on Craigslist or at a garage sale, it is. But that is one of those lucky things you have to wait for and doesn't solve your immediate problem.

I have been watching this thread because I have pretty much the same need - a good single disk karaoke player. I prefer track number and key keys be available on the front panel. I also need to be able to operate without having to have a monitor connected. My intended use is for music shows where I put in a compiled disk and hit play. Each song should play, then stop. Pressing play needs to start the next song in order. Reasonable disk load time is a plus. Anything 10 seconds or less would be preferred. I would like to stay in the $100-$150 range.

I had bought a V2GO GO-100 and though it met all my other requirements, after it played a song (in Karaoke mode) it would go into STOP mode and pressing play would start the whole disk over, so pressing play after any song has played would result in the first track being played, not the next song. After trying a warranty swap, and then unsuccessful attempts to get V2GO to change the firmware, I am sending the unit back for a refund.

So, I am back to zero. So far, I am considering the RSQ-KM-1000, the Acesonic DGX-105 or DGX-106 or the VocoPro DKP-10G. The problem is that none of the manuals say if the machine, in karaoke mode, will play a song then stop, then play the next song when you press play again. I would certainly like to hear from owners of these, and other machines. My deal killer is that it has to have the Play, Stop, Play next song, feature.

This mode is used for karaoke entertainment. Using your remote control, press the STOP button (30). Press the KARAOKE button (#22,pg. 7) to enter the karaoke mode. In the karaoke mode, the CD or CD+G disc stops automatically at the end of each song. The PLAY button (15) must be pressed for the next song. The KEY control (7) is activated only in the karaoke mode. If the key of a song is changed, the GO-100 will reset the key to neutral at the end of the song.

That's really not that different from the RSQ505 in karaoke mode. It would have to do the selection number and then hit play

knightshow- Before buying the GO-100, I had read the V2GO user manual that you mention and was confident that I would get that function . The unit that arrived looked and performed differently. V2GO had revised the GO-100 recently and the pictures and manual you see on the Internet are no longer valid. So, even though the older machine's manual says it will stop, then go to the next song, the current GO-100 does not.

In a separate thread I had polled users on how their machine functioned and all replies were that it stopped at the end of the song, then pressing play played the next song. That is how the machines at a local karaoke retailer function, too. I think when V2GO revised the GO-100, they incorrectly programmed the firmware to issue a stop, instead of a pause, command at the end of the track in karaoke mode.

I know I could enter the next song number and hit play, but I am a one-man performer and having to consult a song chart to find where I am, then enter the number, is a distraction I wanted to avoid. Simply pressing play and having the player serve up the next track is what I want.

My local karaoke retailer has mostly CAVS and RJ Tech, brands I wanted to avoid. I will probably have to check out the Vocopro units at Sam Ash and Guitar Center to see how they operate before buying anything else.

Vivona: If you have a laptop, for your application it sounds like it would be much easier for you to get a hosting program that would allow you to rip your CDGs onto your laptop, hit play and set it to restart after a certain time period - 15 seconds or something like that. I use that function in Hoster when I have a small group of singers who know the routine - set the first song to going, set it to go to the next song automatically, and I don't even have to go to the board if I don't want to. Not pushing Hoster but just telling you that with this application it might be a lot easier for you, and a space saver. I'm not sure if the free programs offer this function (going automatically to the next song with a time period in between) but it might be worth looking into.

If I may, a bit more on the V2GO player that I don't believe was mentioned. This machine includes a USB port on the front panel. For those who don't wish to carry discs, you can have the benefit of MP3s (ick - but that's just me ) without worrying about PC hassles. Simply load up players and carry them instead, yet always ready to play a disc.
