Who are they stopping? They're selling them discs and letting them continue aren't they?

Of course they do... they wan't them to continue to be sold and traded... this way, they can come right in behind the buyers and sell them discs as well. Eliminate the drives and you eliminate their new customer base.
IMHO: This is a situation that was created, fostered and made possible because of these same manufacturers. SC may complain in their lawsuit that they "spent over 18 million dollars" to create their business which has now be devestated by the file sharing of the internet...
Where did the money come from in the first place? (the same customers they are now suing)
It is a shame.
