Apparently when I choose A or B, the only difference is the output to the front speakers - it still send signals to the surrounds.

That is why I suggested changing the sound field to 2 CHANNEL STEREO mode. According to the manual:

"The receiver outputs the sound from the front left/right speakers only. There is no sound from the subwoofer."

Have you tried the 2 Channel Stereo mode yet?

As recommended earlier, take the receiver out of the equation. It is more trouble than it is worth just to try to use the D/A converter. Buy a DVD player ($5 at Goodwill, $20 at Wal-Mart). If you just absolutely can't stand the D/A convertor in the DVD player, spend $25.00 on an external convertor, like this one:

I have a feeling, however, that the sound from the DVD player is going to be JUST FINE and save you all of this headache from trying to run everything through your HT receiver.

TopherM... I might end up doing what you're suggesting but I'm trying to hold out for a decent player.

Murray... Thank you for taking the time to check the manual for me. But the problem isn't the subwoofer but because I'm biamping my Stereo speakers. The problem with biamping is that it always send the signal to the surrounds. Currently, I can get it to work fine by disable biamping. No distortion. It takes a couple more seconds.

Now I only need to know how to work the mixer to make it sounds good to the singer.
