Danny, CH doesn't "import" the tracks in a technical sense.
There is no copy made. It "imports" the file name and location, that's it.
You can add the song directly through the song list/search function in the song list window.
The program makes a note of where the song resides, that's all. If the files are in zip format, it will unzip them to the CH "working" folder and then autodelete them when the track is finished.
If you look at your history (later, after the show), you'll find that song listed as no longer in the database, usually displayed in red in the singers' history.

I believe that was what I was trying to say in a previous post that it doesn't copy the tracks themselves, just the info on artist, title, disc #, track and the location of the file. It needs to be in the database to add to playlist though. It doesn't like RoxBox drag and drop the file into the playlist.

I'm still a couple of months away before I set up my show in a bar, but I have a seperate player that I will keep at my show just for that reason.. My library will be run off of my laptop and a hard drive, but I'll have an A/B switch set up to switch over the video, in case someone wants to bring in their own music. My music may be digital, but I know it's legal to use. I, personally, wouldn't accept any digital format be it SD card, or burned CD from a customer because I don't have any idea where it came from... If a customer brings a purchased CD+G, I'd like for them to be able to sing it though. Hope that helps.

I have to be ready by the 22nd. Still have to buy the laptop and hard drive. As well as import the songs onto the hard drive. Thinking about just importing the GEM Series and starting that way. 6000 songs is a good start. Will import the cd+g's later as I have time.

I plan on adding the KJ Media Pro at a later date. I can't afford the hard drive, Laptop and the KJ media pro, although the 50 songs would get me through the gig. HMM thinking. No just can't swing it. Have to go with my original plan to import the GEM series use my main books and explain that anything that has a letter beginning the disc ID, I don't have and everything else I do. I'm losing two SC discs because CDGRIP does not do media cloq discs. Guess I'll have to order them custom.

I ask for Mp3+g format. It's best to zip the 2 files together.
I have a guy that brings stuff he gets from SBI and Karaoke Version every week.

I used to go to a show and he would play whatever disc I handed him. These discs were al my own compositions. They are in my key so no trouble there, and they were mixed and burned w/the best bit rate for quality He bought a new illeagle hard drive and will not play any "outside" music anymore. I heve known him for twelve years as a KJ. He also has congratulated me on the strenght of my songs gualities. The audience gets quiet and listens, then applaud with an energy. They are not love ballads that would put everybody to sleep! He decided no more outside help was needed. We have not been back in about 18 months. I would sing two songs tops. I realize this is not star search and not all about me. But no more. AmIi missing something from his point of wiev?

If he loses support because of it, he'll either go back to what he was doing before or dissapear altogether.

OK... Please get back to the topic on hand... This thread is NOT about illegal Libraries or whether the KJ will play your personal discs.

after Tricerasoft jumping on and looking at their site, i think i may get some stuff there. i bring that up because i think that would be the difference to me in playing off someones drive. if the receipt for the song was added on the drive as well, it would show to be a paid for download, like an original disc shows a paid for song. that seems logical to me. my reason for not wanting to play custys drives is because there is no way to know if they just downloaded the song from a torrent. not wanting to perpetuate piracy, i decided not to allow them, but with a tricera or selectatrack rect, maybe that is the ticket.
