An Ignore Button?!?!?!?!??! Is this a serious discussion I don't want MrX to comment on my songs!! This is hilarious!!!!
Now before we get all emotional about all these functions and buttons, let's get 1 or 2 issues clear here.
Phil
re·per·cus·sion
a widespread, indirect, or unforeseen effect of an act, action, or event -- usually used in plural
Wannabe
laptop is one word
Back to the point. Why, oh Why!!!!!!!!!! an ignore button?!?!?!?! I have had some great arguments and huge fights with people on this site because THEY WERE ALLOWED TO GIVE THEIR OPINIONS!!!!!!!!! After the fight we all kissed and made up, and live in perfect harmony!
Wake up, smell the roses and take it like a man. This is a democratic site practicing freedom of speech, now you want to stop that as well with a silly button If you're brave enough to sub a song (and it takes a lot of guts) then you must be brave enough to take critique! I for one had big clashes with BeachHeadBum, and would never, ever use a stupid gesture like that ----Ignore BeachHeadBum--- Ha!!!!!!!!! He spiced it up for me! Not telling me what a cute butt I have and lovely vocals, but actually giving some cool feedback (even if I hated his guts)
I actually miss him
Down with the ignore button! Up with freedom of speech!

tpeterson - Ha, Ha... I'm always looking for away to catch him!
AllStar - I think you scared MR BHB away.
Miss Milo - Gee! Thanx I'm all warm and fuzzy now or is that the alcohol? hmmm... No really I try to help make this site fun and enjoyable for everyone. Glad it is making at least one person happy!
wannabe - How do you live with that man? Thanks for putting up with him and I guess sharing him with us.
Micky - I'm always ready to party. My "Better" is out of town the 1st weekend in Oct. As Travis Tritt says - (Spell it with me now) T-R-O-U-B-L-E
To everyone else: I don't mean to ignore anyone (haven't created all the buttons yet!) I hope you all are enjoying the site. Please keep the ideas flowing.
Phill

LMBO @ Tim (AKA tpeterson)
Quote: but i do have to make an issue of the fact that "off" is spelled with 2 f's. Running the spelling and grammar check with MSWord 2003, effect of an act is the correct form also............... according the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, whom I quoted Tim, you're a cool guy! Quote: points well taken, but i do have You always start a sentence with a capitol letter Tim, and the letter “I” is spelled with a capitol letter when referring to yourself. Question of the day: When can you use the phrase “I is………………….” Instead of “I am…………”Phil, you're now on my black list. Quote: wannabe - How do you live with that man? I’m still the man in the house, as long as she’s not there! I can watch football anytime she allows me, and we have sex anytime she wants to!

Good one Tim,
How strange is it to anyone else that a foreigner is giving me English spelling and grammar lessons. Do I correct him When he speaks Dutch or one of the other languages he speaks? No!!!
I can only be as good as my public education allows.

He tends to get cocky when he's out of my reach, but when he gets home he knows exactly who's the boss around here

Of course you're the reason for this.... what else could it possibly be? <-- Note the mass quantities of sarcasm...
I'm sure this is tied to comments from a variety of people regarding comments on submissions, other similar issues we've had recently, and the fact that a number of people are now arriving from a board where there is some history of antagonism - and it's not necessarily tied to any one person's arrival (it's actually based on my arrival and the fact that I'm a posting maniac and can't keep my mouth shut!).

sorry allstar, don't have caps on this keyboard. lmao!!!!!! and i need a new one that spells better than this old one i have. i see that i have a learned and worthy adversary here, so i'll dig deep into literature (and old "little rascals" episodes) to quote the esteemed buckwheat as my last defense:
"howwudiduppohdadoh?"
take that, buddy!!

Why bother with an ignore button. It's nice to read what everyone has to say and learn who the idiots are. When idiots are ignored, they become dangerous. Better they be in the open where we can see them.

Well, reading all of the comments in this thread, I had to pop back here one more time, to explain why I suggested such a feature. Ok, now I'm riskin Interpol getting that much closer! Hope yer happy! !
My obviously unpopular suggestion, was NOT targeted at any one individual or group of individuals, but rather, was just an idea borne out of frustration, when several people that I very much liked, told me that they were considering leaving the Singers Showcase, because of animosities towards a few other members. I was merely attempting to come up with some type of solution that everyone would be happy with. Boy did THAT backfire!! !!
I also understand that several people assumed that my leaving the Singers Showcase, so shortly after making this post, meant that I was having some kind of problems with other members. Believe me, nothing could be further from the truth! I have made a ton of online friends here and have NEVER had a single problem with one of them! Well, ok, Allstar rubbed me the wrong way a few times. !!! Sorry, I couldn't resist taking one parting shot at Ol Allstar!
Goodbye friends!
Steve

Mark Twain said it best -
Re: The ignore button and annoying people disappearing
"It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt."
"In all matters of opinion our adversaries are insane."
Re: Allstar's Grammar/Spelling lessons
"I never let my schooling get in the way of my education."
"Drawing on my fine command of language, I said nothing."
"The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter — 'tis the difference between the lightning-bug and the lightning."
Re: Annoying people leaving the board
"I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying that I approved of it."
Re: Posting/discussions
"There are no dialogues, only intersecting monologues"
Re: Flame wars (in postings)
"It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog."
Re: Politics
"Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on, or by imbeciles who really mean it."
"Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself."
"It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress."
"The citizen who sees his society's democratic clothes being worn out and does not cry out is not a patriot but a traitor."
Re: Fiction - ok, this had no real purpose, I just HAD to post it though!
"The test of any good fiction is that you should care something for the characters; the good to succeed, the bad to fail. The trouble with most fiction is that you want them all to land in hell, together, as quickly as possible."
Ok, hope you enjoyed these....
