You know, I've never met Rob in person, but I've talked to him through email, and I honestly do believe he'd be an awesome person to meet. He's an exact example of what us "Just for fun" people are here for. Well, he was until he left.... And somebody cutting him for the reason they did is to me-sickening. Hell, I don't even know who did it. I heard about it later, through someone else. And I don't want him to be gone- heck, we still got some duets lined up. (Hmmm... and they're ON my hard drive... wonder if he'd show up and kick my arse if I subbed them anyhow?)  :D  I just might do that come to think of it. Keep his spirit alive anyhow.

I know nothing about the issue with Mark. I haven't been around enough lately to see all that stuff. I do pop in there and listen, and sometimes I leave comments, alot of times I don't. But if that was public stuff in SS, I totally overlooked all of it. Then again, I don't normally scroll all the comments & read them either. Mark has alot of fans here, and I think some people just can't handle that.  I gotta email him, cause I think he needs to just hold his head up and come back in swinging.  :D

As to Tony, nah.... I don't think he'll sub any more. But yeah, there were a couple who said they thought he was subbing someone else's guitar work.  I was certain we would sooner or later get him worked up to SINGING in there again, but not now. Maybe... but who knows.  :no:  

Some get mad, some get their feelings hurt, and some have the "okay, I don't need this place" kind of attitude. Either way, it hurts SS. Cause people leave.

I hope if you take a little breather, you don't leave us Rita. I know you got songs I need to catch up to anyhow.  I've taken breathers before too, heck... I never sub very often anymore. But, for personal reasons, not cause of anything on SS. Shoot, I would be able to let all that roll off my shoulders I think. (maybe?)  I'm a bit used to people not liking me & bashing me for no reason at all, hahaha.... So I've had practice.  And when I first joined here, I did get alot of critique, and had a certain girl who liked to bash me. But.... I survived it.

Well, I gotta go. Got a eye doc appointment to get my daughter to soon, and I still gotta get out of these danged SS jammies I'm still wearing and take a shower.

I hope all that SS stuff settles down, but I reckon there will always be somebody in there causing trouble for someone else.  :(  I say we just string 'em up. (I'll bring the rope...)

Personally.. i don't see the point... it is ONLINE.. not life. THe INTERNET... how can ya get so angry with someone that you can hit a button (the power button) and make go away? What conflicts? HOW can you HAVE conflicts with an online identity?! I find the old adage helpful, " if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen", the "mean" people have just as much right to be there as the "nice" people in all of your cliques. Paid or not paid....... doens't much matter, besides the NON paying members are the people who MIGHT START paying... you can't allienate them, simply because YOU pay, and they don't. I never have, and never will. If you don't like someone.. ignore them. People that act up on forums, etc WANT attention.. and when you snap back at them, they GET that attention.

I don't have anything against free members being here.  But I think there should be some rules concerning what they are allowed to do.  And yes, people that do pay should be able to enjoy what they are paying for.

or someone mistakes what I have said and that begins a debate...I am here to have fun..  and for the past month there has been bickering over at SS too..So the safest place for me has been communication through my mic into Adobe Audition...

Rita I sure would hate to see you leave. You know the one who accused you of being someone's "Mommy" came over to my sub and continued his bashing of the one you are referring to. It was very inappropriate and I did report it. I do my best to stay out of things, but it has gotten so bad lately that I've been taking time off. When my sister was here visiting, I had plenty of time to listen, but chose to lay low and take time off hoping all the BS would go away...but of course it didn't. I also took the last weekend off for the same reason. The bashing has gotten so out of hand. I know quite a bit of what has been going on and most of those involved...I actually felt the need to put a "disclaimer" on a comment because I felt the statements in the description were out of line. I really hate to see what is happening in SS - the person that is taking the brunt of the abuse most definitely does not deserve it and its sad to see that he has to post "Listen Only" just to avoid the moron squad.

When I go to SS, I go there to listen to music and thats what I'm going to continue to do. I'm going to do my best to ignore the rude comments and listen to the songs I want. Maybe in time it will go away...stuff like this does tend to go in cycles, Hopefully they'll get bored eventually and burn out like most children do.

Let's face it all, wherever you get groups of humans, no matter the age, gender, culture, socio/economic status, you are going to have CONFLICT... It's a part of living...I say if folks wanna duke it out, then have a special forum, choosing a song that best expresses their feeling over the issue and SING IT.. After all isn't this a music site????  That's what was done in Eminem's film, 8 Mile....

Hmmm, interesting...  I seldom go to SS, was in there recently and heard some awesome singers and some not so awesome...  I have never posted a song as:  

1) I don't know how and....
2) I'm not a great singer, I'm a karaoke fanatic that is a passable singer
3) If my subs were bashed I'm sure my feelings would be hurt and no sense setting myself up for that...  :O

While I agree with Gilly regarding ignoring posts and have actively ignored posts by certain people I'm not sure I could ignore negativity about my singing; guess I'm not as tough as I thought!

Even though it is the internet, connections are still formed and all sorts of conflicts abound.  I don't know specifics about the conflict(s) in SS but I think to use someone's sub, which to me is a form self-expression, as a way to hurt or antagonize someone is unfortunate...

Rapping or singing.. either one can be used.. I think we all can find songs we relate to...

Yeah well if everyone took that mentality it would be great. Instead we have people going to other people's subs and spewing gibberish about their character etc... like that has ANYTHING to do with the @#$%ing music. I'm sorry, but it's unfortunate not everyone thinks like that... we would have some top notch subs if they did!  LOL

Ok I forgot to comment on the main point of this thread. I've been at SS for almost a year now, but just started in the forums a couple months ago. I guess I was rather intimidated by forums as I'd never participated before. For the most part, I only have so much time per day and usually am listening to songs by friends I've made in SS. I like both places, but time is the biggest factor.

I promise I'll try to submit something very soon. My wife wants to sub too but hasn't been able to find the time.

I woke up and there was 3 pages of post. But other than ATM all are ladies. I can see why a few members do not sub songs at SS. Some like me, have bad singing, some do not want thier true identity known, and those new to the site, just do not know how.
I do not consider myself a singer, so when I sub songs at SS and people say something bad about it, it does not hurt me at all. I don't sub anymore cos I can't listen to the songs at SS. The 'rules' at SS is 'you listen to me I listen to you". You want to sub you better start listening to as many songs as posible and leave comments. I can ignore any post in the forum even post dicected to me. You can't even ignore ONE comment about your song at SS.

Well I am not going anywhere for a long time.  I too am a paid member.  So far I have found many nice people here.  And I have had a few helping comments at SS that have only helped me to improve.  As far as posting on here, I won't be chased from that either.  Big Dog don't you worry I can take it.  I just think that when we do have new people they should be allowed to make comments without it becoming a HUGE debate.  Singers over Non Singers??? How long have we been on that one?  And yes I did make the comment that I didn't care if the non signers left the bar.  But it did not need to become a name calling and I still will refer to Big Dogs renaming of me to "Karaoke Idiot".  Saying that I was scr**ing the bar owners.  So don't you dare deny that you attacked me.  Because you did.  Not a good way to treat new people.  But thanks, cuz you did force me more into SS.  I do not know about what is happening with everyone there, I have been lucky to miss it I think.  But I do agree that we all need to stick together, maybe some stricter rules and not let these imature people get to us.

ok.. well.. just a case in point here.. I do agree with keep it to the music comments..
but.. a couple of the comments here said that they appreciate how if someone see's someone else being attacked that friends circle and defend their friend..

well... I know about some of the stuff that has been going on and said in here.. and if you think about it.. the people attacking the other person's character or whatever... they feel they are sticking up for other people too..

so that's what I mean.. there's always going to be gang vs gang ... and who's really in the right? well ask members of Friend-set-A and they'll say they are.. Friends-set-B says they are..

who wins? that's what I meant.. two sides to every single story.. everyone is sticking up for friends or people they feel need sticking up for.. etc..

so not to start a fight.. just to make a point..

now dang it.. Where's Tig when a girl needs him? geez I've been hanging around all day and ya think he'd come find me but noooooooooooo.. Charmin!! what have you done with Tig?  :whistle:
