Actually, K/S, the support was pretty immediate. And I had a nice convo on the phone with the owner while they were resolving it. I've never worked with a company that moved so quickly to resolve an issue as they did. For me, Hoster works very, very well. It is simple. It's a good fit for us.

I get it that you don't care for their program. We all need to use what works best for us and I'm content with Hoster.

I didn't remember all the incidents around your fiasco with Hoster. I'm glad it all worked out. I'm just saying with all the pains you went through, I'm GLAD you like it. I know I'd never have had the patience to deal with it!

Below are your posts on your problems with Hoster. NOT your successes. I realize they highly outweigh your bad experience... I just wanted folks to know what I was talking about, and why I'm so dead against it!

Well, I purchased Song List Generator, but it won't install on my computer. Their support tech is baffled, as am I. It installs just fine on my wife's computer, but that one doesn't contain my files, so it's useless. I may just have to get a refund and go the Excel route again, as I've been doing all this time, which is a tremendous headache. *sigh*...

I've found Access to be HIGHLY superior to Excel, once I set up the reports!

My knowledge and experience with Access could fit on a fingernail. The pinky. Of a small child. Which is to say, it's nearly non-existent.

If you need some help, there are VERY knowledgeable folks on here. Lonnie and RLC and another guy I can't remember his avatar name... they've all helped me with Access.

Once you get to playing with it, it's not hard at all. BUT there IS a learning curve!

"Boob", Fruedian slip?

I type everything myself to ensure accuracy. It may take longer but it makes for a neat accurate book. Any question about song title or artists I go to the groups' homepage and get the exact title.

Well after the mishap and leaving 600+ songs out of my new song books I was dreading the re-printing/re-stuffing of the song books, now that I have the database up to date. While I was at it, I made two seperate books, a master book with everything and a customer book with all dups removed. Out of pure curiousity, I printed just two new song books and decided to try the sprial bound models. Let me say, I'm totally sold on them. I'm now in the process of designing cover pages and seperator pages for the artist/title out of heavier card stock that will be laminated and that will even be reused when the books are reprinted.....NO MORE STUFFING!!! I would've never thought of such of a thing, until reading about it on here....Thanks everyone! MrD
