Yep it has... did you expect it to be a slam dunk one way or the other?

I didn't. SC is losing relevancy quickly.

Perhaps, and then only among the 36 very biased respondents. To think that a completely unscientific poll on an obscure internet forum speaks for the entire karaoke world is a stretch even for you.

The differences between "reality" and "technicality" never seems to stop others on this forum..... don't be a party-pooper.

While talking total rubbish, he does have a very good point.

I sing the best of what's there. Some of my favorite songs aren't in Sound Choice, and some are available through Zoom with no backup singers, which gives me more creative room.

I voted that I would not leave if they dropped SC. Nevertheless, I'm not sure (as the question is worded) that any version is OK. That being said though, I'm a decent singer and as long as the karaoke version of the song I'm singing has the melody correct, the arrangement does not matter. One thing that I also wanted to address, since I saw it mentioned a few times in this topic, is the issue of bringing your own discs to shows. I see nothing wrong with it. Many times it is simply a case of the KJ not having that song at all, or having a version that you feel is inferior or whose arrangement you do not care for. I used to do it, but then I found that there were plenty of songs to choose from out of the book.

I sang "Silent Lucidity"from the KJ's collection Sunday night. It had this annoying guide flute which clashed very noticably with my styling of the vocals. Felt like I was singing from a MIDI that I had forgotten to mute the vocal instriment on. I'm bringing my own (store bought) version next time.
