c'mon Cueball...be nice! Turi can be frustrating I know...but seriously- the only person he's hurting by not posting a song is himself. And you be honest Cue- Are you REALLY that eager to critique him? AND.......After he's gotten under your skin with his attitude the way he has, could you be honest with him if he did. His arrogance has a bunch of people lined up to tear him to bits- even if he IS good. Plus singing is so much "discretionary" on the part of the listener- almost like if you don;t want to like a singer you'll look for the bad and ignore the good. ...if I were him "I'd" be hesitant to post too.

If he does- I honestly will give him his strengths and weaknesses. Hopefully you could put aside your obvious frustration and give him a chance. But then again...we'll just have to wait and see if he actually subs anything won't we( wink)

Actually, my last comment goes towards the fact that he quoted my entire post and then only responded to the part he wanted to... the part where he said that he has performed publicly as a Wedding Singer" and played at some Open Houses (Open Mic Night... where Anybody who's Nobody can perform). He didn't address anything else from his lack of humility, to saying something nice about ANY of his competition, to the fact that someone could be conning him.

As for critiquing his singing, I haven't even gone to listen to the others in/on the Singer's Showcase section. I've never tried to submit anything either (my excuse being not much different from Turi.... I'm very PC Iliterate.... I'm lazy and I don't know how to set myself up on the PC to sing, and I don't have a Mic that I could hook up to my PC (I have the regular corded 1/4" plugged Mics))... Although I would gladly s-mail a cassette of my singing to anyone that really wanted to hear me.

I have an idea..why don't the 2 of you s-mail songs to each other! ( wink) Then you can tell us what he sounds like? You up for it? (Kidding) seriously- I can't believe NO ONE from that contest is a member here. I'd love to hear some outside input about the 10 girls and old man vs turi.

Just a random update, I'm lead singer/rhythm guitarist/song-writer for a band now, seems promising since we are all have similar tastes in music (none of this death metal (@$%&#!)), so maybe you fellas will hear from us sometime, can't wait 'till we get our first gig though.

Anyone know how many songs should be in a bands repertoire before trying to get gigs?
I heard it's around 40-50 but I'm not too sure.

not even gonna bother because you won't take any advice turi. But basic common sense...you book a 4 hour show- that's about 3 hours of viable music breaks aside. How many songs can you fit in 180 minutes? if you're doing long songs like the full 10 minutes version of "stairway to heaven" ( at 10+ minutes) wouldn't be many.
