As most of you already know, Vicki, aka Morgan LeFey (my favorite enchantress), is planning a trip to the States next year (late May/early June thereabouts).  When I spoke to her a couple nights ago she said she was planning on doing a bit of state hopping to visit as many people as she possibly can which is where my idea comes to play.  I've had this brewin' in my brain for several weeks now but just recently got a chance to speak with her to catch her thoughts so here goes:

I know this has been brought up before but so far it hasn't come to fruition and Vicki's visit lends the perfect opportunity to finally have the big SS/KS get together.  Obviously this will take a bit of planning and we won't be able to proceed further until her itinerary is a bit more finalized for the trip but we can start researching venues, lodging, possible locations, how many people will attend etc.  My first thought was actually Nashville--lots of attractions, plenty of places to sing, just lots to do in general.  Another possibility could be the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area--we could look into leasing a couple chalets and keep our partying contained.  With all the kjs (myself included) I'm sure we could pull together an extremely well put together gig AND we'd not have to contend with other local/vacationing singers.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooo..............whatcha guys think?

You all plan it, I'll hop the plane. Seriously, one of you all may have to fly out here and hold my hand (or... drag me aboard)..... but I'll get on the plane and go.


What time of year? Cause if it's after 1-31-08, I have an all expense paid trip to ANYwhere..... I already told him I would probably pick Nashville. That would be perfect.

And I'm serious this time..... I'm comin'.  :yes:

first off, when Cathi first mooted the idea to me a week or so ago I was blown away that she would even consider organising something like that.
Bottom line is I dont want to put anyone out...but I would love to meet as many as I can....
as Cathi pointed out to me if I state hop then there are going to be 2 probs...the first being the expense and the 2nd being the very real need for a holiday after my holiday to recover from the rather arduous tripping about over such an enormous country
My plans are still up in the air at the moment but it will be late may or early june I think ... I have a date in Paris on june 19th so will have to be in UK before that

Cathi has sent me some links to websites of the chalets she is talking about WOW!!! to think we could all be housed in them and make as much noise as we want for as long as we want is just incredible

Just know that if folks are keen, then so am I and will be there even if I have to swim to get there...yep I have already started to purchase US $ cos our dollar is so strong and that isnt usually the case.

OMG a ks/ss reunion that I can be part of that is like a dream come true!!!

Well... hmmm....

May 20th will be my FORTIETH birthday. Yep, the big 4-0 for me. (that's sad) I'm thinking I probably wont be in the best of moods at that time. I'll be feeling old, and crotchety, like nobody loves me anymore, and down in the dumps and all that good stuff.

Make it before that, so I can be celebrating my last days of being 30'ish. Then I'll be in a big party mood.  LMAO

But seriously, if there's any way... I'd love to be there. I've always wanted to attend one, and never have yet. I'm afraid though, once I actually meet some of you, that you'll realize that- in person- I'm not so big and bad after all. It'll blow my KS cover.  LMAO

What think you Cat, will we put Charm in charge of sorting who sleeps with who in those Chalets? Do ya think that will take her mind off her "woes"

Charmin I can tell you this from experience... my 40s have been my very best years...I have grown in talent, I have grown sexually, my ambition has grown...actually so has my dress size and thats not such a good thing...But I would recommend turning 40 to anyone

I could do that. And you all might end up hiring me to do FUTURE sleeping arangements. I could make it interesting, to say the least.

I'm really looking forward to this and even tho it'll be alotta work the end result will be a totally kicka$$ to do and soooooooo worth it.  I'll post a sub sometime in the next couple days with a link to this thread so folks on SS will see what we're up to and therefore spread the word.
