Been working in Spain for 21 years as a musician/vocalist, Karaoke presenter, and Tribute to Elvis artist. Seen a LOT of changes over the years, mostly not for the better here.I strive for the best possible ENTERTAINMENT value from my karaoke shows...and that means a lot of people DON´T get to sing twice ![]() Now, before anybody starts to shout abuse on the behalf of kids, drunks and bad singers...I don´t knock the people who provide karaoke for them, so please don´t knock ME in my quest for excellence. I provide lightshows, smoke machines and strobes, which I built and operate myself, and relevant to the songs being sung. I have a facility for recording singers´songs, and sell them a cd or dvd of their performance. They are professional standard, with titles and photos printed directly onto the discs. I DON´T make a profit from the sales..it is a service I like to provide. So, that is me..and I look forward to talking to you all here!! Nick |

Hello and a big welcome to KS  I mostly work in bars, so I don't have the problem of children singing usually. The few times I've dealt with it I found it cute, but a bit frrustrating. I understand your feelings, but wouldn't go as far to say I'd never let a child sing. If I had to deal with it on a regualr basis I may have different feelings on the subject. It is always nice to have new people join the forum who are as enthusiastic as you. I'm sure you'll be a great addition to the family. |

Salou, Welcome and i like your style. You seem to try to create the best show possible regardless of the effort, Bravo! Here in the states theres too many dime a dozen song factories sometimes. I myself hump over 1000 lbs of stuff to my gigs, As few as they are these days by design. Fog is kind of a nono here, Most bars have poor ventilation. Among the kids parties i did i remember one at the chelsea pier bowling alley here in nyc back in around 2000-2001. There were a good 60 kids there ranging in age from 6-9 years old. It was pretty crazy trying to keep the youngsters under control. At one point while one kid was singing i spun around and saw 2 young kids turning all the knobs and pushing sliders on my boards |

Oh My God! Someone who thinks like I do. Nothing against kids and drunks, but that is the reason I quit DJing weddings. Although I have karaoke capable equipment, it is for personal enjoyment. People at weddings think the DJ is the babysitter. ![]() |

Hey Nick. Welcome. I look forward to having you join in on the forum discussions. You seem like an honest, straight-forward kind of guy with some interesting perspectives. Don't forget to visit the Singers Showcase. Look forward to your comments over there too!! |
