I was browsing my favorite online rummage sale (AKA Ebay) for a mixer, when I came across the following gem. If only I had known! LMAO!

It IS the free enterprise business at it's worst, I'm afraid.

There are surely regular participants on this board from Michigan who must be familiar with this guy. If he's been at it for 18 years, someone knows him. "How big a boy are you?"

Actually he's quite smart. The bit of time to organize it and put on a CD wouldn't be too much even at 100 hrs or so. Depending how many he sells it could be quite lucrative. Now is the product good. I have no idea, I haven't seen it. But if the info is good etc, it could help people. Not everyone has access to the net and these boards. As with most of these types of ventures the claims seem to be much higher than the reality. It could be a good thing afterall how many of you know karaoke hosts who couldn't run a show if their life depended on it. Is it for everyone - no - but for those not fortunate to mentor under someone, who knows.

LOL, then they wouldn't have access to the "online" promotion either.

Looks as corny as that VIDEO PROFESSOR on TV who will teach you how to operate a computer if you buy his disk set and plug them into your computer. Seems to me if you can get that far you can hit the help button for free.

One note on the "Karaoke Professor's" speel. He will "teach you all of HIS secrets as well as teach you the "PRO'S" secrets. Pitch line #2, as I recall.

I ordered it --- NOT!

Although, it would be nice to see how many orders he gets in a month. Reminds me of a lot of the biz ops you see at some of the shows.

Oops Lonman you're right I goofed. Maybe karaokescene can purchase it and give it a review. Who knows it could be valuable to someone brand new with no one to teach them. Remember a lot of universities do correspondence this way. And no I'm not saying this karaoke course is university quality. But then again until seen, who knows.

For $29.99 you can come to my show and be a KJ, but first you have to learn how to be a roadie. That'll cost ya $100.

I'm thinking karaokescene should buy a copy and give us a review.

I work WAAAAY too hard for my "gig bones" and my regular "work bones" to give this guy 29 bones for this disc. Maybe the best bone he could toss is telling us where he is located so a real KJ can get in there and show the folks what they are missing! lol

Hate to bring up old ones, but just couldn't resist it this time.

I was just so rejected that karaokescene didn't buy an evaluation copy and critique it to us, I had to go back and check out the link on that original post.  :puke: I guess that guy must not have sold too many - the link is no good any more. Shucks

On a related note, I stumbled across a website that actually does have some pretty good business tips for folks getting started in the DJ/KJ biz. there is a lot of good business-side information there. I will warn you to stay away from the karaoke section of this site unless you are looking for a good belly laugh. dju.prodj.com/courses/index.html
