It can and has been done many times before Pat, depending on the mixing skills and equipment compatabilties sometimes it's very hard to tell the singers aren't in the same room.
I know this song well and would love to sing it with ya but unfortunately at this time I'm unable to fit into my schedule. My daughter's due any day and I have several other projects I need to get to first before I can commit to another song (Nick, Steven, Bill, Vicki, Nathan, Stan, I'm still hangin'
