Post subject:  Using production music?

Hi everybody...I am a hobby vocalist that is interested in writing and recording original material, but without a band.  I have found many sites selling production music or royalty free music.  Some of the material really sounds good, and I'm sure I could find some stuff to write for.  I have 2 questions- Has anybody done this before?  and, could anybody suggest some good sites for production music?  Your help is appreciated

There is a program called "BAND IN A BOX". Check it out.
I have it and I've used it to create many of my original songs.

There was a "band" in my area that did this a few years back, but they hadn't written any part of it (it sounds like you want to use music and put your own words to it).  They were basically getting paid to karaoke...they were awful and the wrost part was they had a following and got paid pretty well for a while until the novelty of them wore off.  If its your ONLY option, I'd say go for it...but you're much further ahead with a band.  PS...I understand the temptation...I thought myself "If they got paid to do that, why can't I", since I couldn't find a band...it just seems wierd to me though.
