Hello everyone,

I'm looking to buy a kareoke system that I can plug into my computer to upload cd+gs directly onto its drive.  I don't want anything fancy.  Just uploading songs to it, plug it to TV, sing using the TV's speakers, and done.

Is there any such thing?
Thanks

In short, no such thing.

If you are wanting to sing thru the TV speakers try something like this instead....

Where is the drive on those 2 items?

TV speakers will blow out.  Can't handle the torture.  TV speakers are made for TV listening.  PA speakers are made for karaoke singing.

Fair enough, I'll buy a little amp thing, but my main concern was more about if there exists a Drive I could plug into the machine and then plug into my computer, through USB for example, to add more songs?

So basically, easier methods of adding cd+gs than burning them to CDs each time...

There are a couple of sites you can download legally (like a buck a song if I understand correctly).  There is nothing you can just buy already loaded legally.

Hmm i see.

One last question, what brand/model/type of burner do I need to burn CD+Gs?

Flam,

Against popular belief, at home I use a CAVS 105G USB.
I download songs onto my PC and Export them to my external drive.
Plug it into my TV and Sing! I connect to a big screen with Bose Surrond Sound,
and the speakers work just fine.
Its plays Discs (CDG & SCDG), but you don't have to use the disc tray.
I load all my disc's and downloaded mp3+g's into the External Drive.
You don't spend money on printing a songbook, the screen displays everything.

Kind Regards,

Kind of new to the ripping process.  What software and hardware do you use to rip your CD+Gs to disk files?  What format are the files?  How cumbersome of a process is this?

Re: CAVS player, how long have you had it?  Are you experiencing any problems with it?  Have heard a lot of negatives about these.

Re:  USB drives and players that have USB ports, do all players of this nature have the ability to "see" and play ripped music files that reside on external drives or is this a very unique thing to CAVS?  What other players have this ability?  Would really like to get a player like this, but CAVS 105 and 203 players seem to have a lot of negative reviews.  (Note:  not really interested in going to a pc/laptop based system at this point.  This is strictly for home use.)
