Hey Folks,

Just getting back in business after several years.  I've managed to figure out most of the new technology, but had a nightmarish flashback and wanted to ask for some guidance, so that I know  what to buy.  I can remember stretching coax all over several bars back in the late 90s, because the bar owners wanted the cdg grapic on the bars' other tvs.  I'm thinking there must be a way to do that wirelessly these days.  Does anyone know?

I use one of these in a particular situation and it works quite well.
There are also much more expensive wireless solutions as well.
                                     BUT
I believe you would still be better off running coax or component cable.
Less chance for any type of drop of signal and easier on your pocketbook as well.

Thanks, RLC.  I just remember the coax always being a major hassle and concerns about safety and the appearance of it.  I usually ended up duct taping it to the floor and up the wall - ugly.  Sounds like folks might still be doing that, though.  I'll buy a couple of those doodads you pointed me to, but may end up using cable anyway.  Thanks again.

If you do decide to get more than 1 just get an extra receiver, they do sell receivers only as well- you only need 1 sending unit. Mine is about 1 1/2 years old...the new ones look a little different (kind of like a toy I must admit) but if they work the same it should be ok...but I would first try and find a way to run cable that you can live with.

Agree with this.  I ran the wireless in shows for a while, the biggest problem was (even though they claimed to be able to go through walls & around corners) that once someone got in the way, the signal at the tv's would start static'ing - most of them are pretty 'direct line of site' so aim them high up!  I eventually went to spending the extra one time & wiring it up once to the distribution box (or the tv's that I wanted karaoke on) with a switchbox (or 2 or more depending on the place) where the wires are concealed or neatly grouped & leave it there & just hook up to the video out of my player/computer when I got there.  No half a$$ looking wiring after that!  If I left, I took the cable back!

We are running 2 big flat screens and the stage monitor with raw video. I run 2 video feeds thru the snake to the stage with no degradation in the video. The shack has a good 4X video DA worth the money.

Depending on the venue, you may only have to run 1 wire.  Some places have all of the TV's attatched to one cable box.  In that case, you just plug in your selector switch to the back of that, and you're ready to go.  You also may be able to tap into the splitter at the cable box.  There's many different options and you'll just have to evaluate your particular venue and see what would work best.
