I have several custom discs from Eatsleepmusic.com. When I put them in my computer drive to get the song tracks, all I get is their website and other links. The little window that normally pops up for listening, ripping or burning the CD, never shows up. Is there a way I can get songs off Eatsleepmusic custom discs to my computer? I notice that I have no trouble getting other custom discs to work with a converter program that I use.

Windows Media Player. A small window comes up when I insert a CDG into drive D. There are different options to choose from. The thing is I don't get this window to come up when I put in those custom discs made by Eatsleepmusic.

Connie, it sounds like you have a disc that prohibits you from ripping/playing it on your pc, due to copyright restrictions. Some Sound Choices made years back also have that embedded. I know just what you mean...

Yup, sounds like it may have some kind of copy protection embedded. Have you tried using a different program to rip? I use Audiograbber (it's freeware)

Connie, I've had that issue as well. (on custom cdg's I got from mycdg.com)
Use audiograbber, it's the only thing I've found that will work for them. (and best of all... yeah... it's free)

Hey, Audiograbber worked!! HA HA! I'm not even sure how I got the songs converted, just played around with it, (clicked grab) but now, would there be a way to get the songs lyrics through my cdg2vcd?
Thanks very much Cathi and Mandi. Now you can do this too, Joyce!
Note: When you Google for Audiograbber, there a couple of sites that won't work, but I did find one on the list that did go to the free download site.

connie that is the prog I was sending you, do you not need it? to ge the graphics you open cdg2vcd select the cdg part of a song and then start, it will convert the whole file to a mpeg then you can insert the file into the multitrack part of cep or adobe audition. the graphics always goes on track 1
let me know if you require me to send that prog I was just about to send ot you when my external decided to make weird noises so have switched to backing up

Hi Vicki,
When I used the audiograbber I was only able to get the MP3 (music) only, not the video. Maybe there's a free program that grabs both audio and video.
I know that some of my songs also have a video file and those are from regular CDGs. I use cdg2vcd for those. But I'm not sure how to get the video on custom disc songs.

audiograbber grabs both hon
but you have to ask it to...go to the drop down menu up the top marked cd you will see another option there grab cdg tracks and a further drop down that allows you to select how you want them saved. probably for you the best way is cdg + compressed...one other thing do you have the lame codec? I hope these days it comes with it but when I installed audiograbber I had to manually install the lame codec to get files of a decent size

Okay..... First I tried it and it didn't work so I probably did something wrong, second time, it worked.
I don't know what the lame codec is, maybe I don't need it?
Is it probably better to name the track with the song names before processing? Searching through my files I see a lot of "track" names.
I'll try putting some more songs on, so I get the hang of it.
THANKS, VICKI!! Hugsss! :hi5:

Lame is the industry standard Connie, it is the most widely used for mp3 conversion (and the best, much more compatible than others with more options)
Looks like Vicki has you covered but if you need any help I'm always available too. Once you get the codec (lame.dll) all you'll need to do is place it in your Audiograbber program folder then change your mp3 settings in the program itself and you're set.
My email/yahoo id is carcat40f at yahoo dot com if ya need hun, could talk ya thru it on the phone if you'd like

Thanks, Cathi,
It might be easier for me to contact you since we have the same time zone, etc. I'll e-mail you soon. I think I have the Lame in Audiograbber, but I'm not sure.

you have to put the LAME_ENC.dll file in the c:/audiograbber folder.
THEN you have to pull up audiograbber and go to the MP3 settings. THEN select the mp3 encoder. It defaults to something else. click the down arrow and you SHOULD see the LAME one as an option. Once you select and "ok" this, you should have no problems encoding your stuff!
good luck.
