I have noticed that several of the makers of karaoke songs record at widely different volumes. Notably SGB is about 10db louder on average than the same song done by SC. Others makers (generally the second tier ones) also have problems here..

I was wondering if there is some tool to change the db levels of a batch of mp3s or wavs? Doing them one at a time is possible with several programs but I would like to do all of the MP3s in a folder at once, because we are talking thousands of songs.

It would be a great thing to have more of my songs at a "standard" sound level and not be constantly adjusting the volume for each song made by SGB, and also remembering to switch it back for the next song.

I know some will say "just thow away the SGB songs" but that is something I am not quite ready to do, and despite what many say, some of the SGB songs are decent once the volume is adjusted.

I just use a compressor/limiter on the music.

Also any changes you make with MP3Gain are completely reversable, at any time in the future, (not that you will necessarily want to ....it is still a comforting thought)
