Hi, We've used our karaoke machine for about 2 years now quite regularly. It seems to have a problem now, as soon as we put a CD in, it pops it out automatically. It does this with all CDs that have worked fine in the past. We tried shutting down the machine for 30 secs and turned it back on. That didn't help. We have not tried cleaning it yet, not sure what the right way to clean it would be. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Mallika |

yep, it needs to be cleaned! Probably the tray mechanism isn't going in all the way. |

Thanks! What cleaning method do you suggest using? I saw something about alcohol swabs..or do I get a cleaning kit? Thx, Mallika |

just do a google search on cleaning cd players. They'll talk about the gear mechanisms, what to use and what not to use as far as cleaning chemicals, etc. |

With the unit unplugged take the cover off and check for forigen objects esp on the gear ans mechanical mechanisms. This includes hair or dust balls. Canned air can be used to blow out the unit. I have cleaned many heads and optics on various things and what I use now is alchohol swabs. The optics in that unit are more sensitive than those in commercial units such as jukeboxes. DO NOT APPLY PRESSURE Gently wipe several times on the eye.. Most use a rack and pinion gear to load and eject. This should be wiped down and a very very thin coat of white grease applied. Last thing is check all the plugs and make sure they are tight and plugged in all the way. And try it. These are the basic steps and I used to do them at least every 2 months. |
