Post subject:  Zoom Platinum Artists Medleys?

Does anyone have any info on these songs, like quality, how long they are, and are they set to a disco beat like Stars on 45? I think it would be kind of cool to do a Beatles, Billy Idol, or an Eagles medley as long as the aren't 10 minutes long and the quality is decent.

I have no previous expierence with Zoom CDGs so I really have no idea what I would be getting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Rudy

I've personally used the Zoom "Eagles" disc. The first time I did the medley, track 13, the crowd was dumbfounded. They thought I had "somehow" mixed it and put it on disc myself. I told them, nope, came that way. It got (still does) a lot of "play time". It's not that long and it's good for starting a show and also for those "slower" nights. For the most part, Zoom puts out quality tracks, but like any other manu, they also have their "stinkers". Just my  :2cents:. Try them. I think you'll be pleased.

I have the Henley Zoom and it is really of excellent quality. Don't have any of the medley ones but am contemplating them.

I haven't tried the medley songs, but I have several now with no real complaints.  Maybe a little bass heavier than other, but other than that......

Thanks for all the responses, I do believe I will try them out. It's always kind of cool to offer something a little different.

I have the Billy Idol & the Roy Orbison ones and they are pretty good.

Each medley contains 3 songs, and each song lasts about a minute or so, (depending on the intro at the beginning and when the songs has a chance to switch to the next one at the end), so the total length of the medley is not over 5 minutes.

Just remember to put in your book what 3 songs are in each medley. Will save ya a lot of headaches of people coming up and asking what songs are in the medley. Example listed in my book: Artist - Idol, Billy , Song Name - Billy Idol Medley (White Wedding, Rebel Yell, Mony Mony).

There is only one medley that I have that is totally awful, Prince medley from SBI, boy what a waste of money.

ZOOM I've found to be very good quality for the most part.

The medley are SO SO in my opinion some are very good and some transition from song to song like a train wreck.

the medleys sound okay but not great in my opinion- i think they cut off the songs at the best parts. The stars on 45 (beatles) is a pretty good one though. :)

Thanks for all the advice, makes my decisions a lot easier. I have always been a huge Beatles fan, that Stars on 45 was a great song when it came out back in the day. I even think the disco backbeat would still be cool today! Thanks to everyone again! Rudy
