Could be many answers I guess - But what is the likely culprit if you get a HISS from your speakers ? Let's assume it is just AMP MIXER SPEAKERS with not inputs yet. I would think it would have to be the MIXER? Could electrical outlet cause a HISSSS...... I know a HUM but HISSSS? |

That usually means your gain is turned all the way up in some input stage (could be FX, too). Try turning trim and faders down as far as they go. If the hiss disappears, then add trim and fader level until the hiss comes back. |

Try turning trim and faders down as far as they go. If the hiss disappears, then add trim and fader level until the hiss comes back. We had that problem before and yes check all the knobs ( sliders ) on all the channels, we had one on an unused channel that was turned all the way up and the hissing was terrible. Good luck! |

Probably picking up intergalactic radio noise from outer space. :O I think every PA system has that noise if you turn up the volume loud enough. I have a wireless microphone that will make noise until it's turned on. Something to do with amplifing "No signal" from it. After you turn the microphone on, the noise stops. |

seemed to be the EFX main slider ? A few adjustments between main and channel faders reduced the HISS drastically but some is still present. |

I was told that EVERY amp produces some hiss and that's just the way it is, nothing you can do about it. The louder you turn the system up the louder the hiss will be. Some amps produce more and some less. If there's a way to reduce or eliminate it I'd be interested to know. |
