So I got all my songs loaded in (almost 15,000), did a dry run on Saturday, everything works great. I start it up this morning to check on a few things before doing show tonight, all of a sudden only 3, 173 songs are showing up on the hard drive...I did work on the song book yesterday, saving info to the DVD drive onto a CD, but that shouldn't have interfered with the actual .kma files. In a bit of a panic here, after spending hundreds of hours loading songs. Anybody ever have this happen???? I did a search for .kma and only 3,173 .kma files showed up...No power failure, etc. Karen |

Try rebuilding your database first, then re-create the song book. You'd be better off asking in the MTU forum for those that actually use Hoster. http://forum.mtu.com/index.php |

One thing that can happen is if you use an external drive for the path for songs, or multiple drives/directories, is that the setup doesn't get saved if you turn off your machine without exiting hoster. 1. Note where all your KMA files are. 2. Start Hoster, go to "Tools/Build Songs Database". Make sure all directories are listed. If not, select the folder where the rest of the songs are and rebuild database. |

Waiting for a call from support at MTU. They're thinking they'll be able to talk me through a recovery of some sort. Thank goodness I didn't try doing anything myself! K |

How do you back up your songs with MTU? That should be the first thing done immediately after ripping all the songs. Sounds like "drive" name change issues. |

Nope, not a drive change issue - they just disappeared. I used Paretologic to recover them but am now having to go through the whole CDG collection because they are showing up as there, but when I do a search the songs are not found...so I'm copying all of the Pioneers (they disappeared en toto for some reason)...almost everything else was recovered intact. PHEW! I guess it may be an issue of having designed a new version that is compatible with Vista...and there are quite a few people who experienced the same issue. PRESIDENT of MTU called me in an attempt to assuage my anger and concerns. I have backed everything up on 500GB external drive for now, but will have to do that again after redoing the songs AGAIN and picking up the ones that show but that aren't really there. This is turning out to be such a pain in the crack for us...hubby is ready to chuck the entire thing out the front window onto the street. I think we'll just hang tight on trying to do a show until we have a "fix" for the software. Can't afford to get to a show and have no songs coming up...and if I'm going to haul discs and the player anywhere, just easier to do that then. K |
