I just want to thank you all here at SS. I was down in the dumps during January and part of February, didn't feel like working or doing much of anything, just kind of having a bad month and feeling ennui (post-holiday blues?). Coming here was nice, and fun, and helped improve my mood. I was burned out from working on my website, needed a break, and I didn't feel like doing much of anything but sitting around.  SS and KSK were nice places to visit and enjoy the music, as well as got me off my butt to record.  So I want to thank all of you, but especially those of you who listened to my songs, commented, and/or gave ranks.

I know how much time this all takes. I have a hard time finding time for all this. I don't know how the rest of you do it. I only seem to find time to record on the weekend, and it takes me hours to learn and record songs, and then transfer them to the computer and mix them. I'm sure part of it is that I am very picky about my songs ;) but anyway, it takes up a lot of time. And then listening to your songs and making comments also takes a lot of time. I feel guilty if I don't do that when I am posting my own, plus I find that I don't get nearly as many comments if I don't do that (which is of course reasonable).  So I am cutting back, maybe to one or two songs per month, and listening and commenting whenever I get a chance.

I am back working now on my site full time, so it doesn't leave much extra time for anything besides regular real-life stuff like housework, spending time with the family, traveling etc. I still plan to sing and record because that is my outlet, as I am sure it is for many of you.  I just have too much going on and it was really stressing me out the past few months. I even canceled my Netflix subscription - just no time to watch DVD movies as much as I love them.

My job as you may know is running the website The TV MegaSite, Inc.  It is my site and I work on it full-time. The site makes money from ads, but not enough for any of us to have an income. But I have an angel investor who is going to pay to help redesign it and get more traffic, so I must concentrate my energies right now mostly on that site, to try to get it more up to snuff for that, and then eventually, hopefully, I can sit back and not work on it so much (can't tell you all the details, but I'm hoping to make more money on it).
And by full time I mean practically every waking hour....so it's no wonder I get burned out once in a while!

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a nice Spring. Post here what you are up to!! It's a new year. What do you have planned? What positive things are going on in your life?

We will be in Vegas in a couple of weeks for a conference for my husband's work. That will be fun! Other than that, no plans until probably May when we will take a quick visit to San Diego to see our family and friends there.

Thanks again you guys! I love you all!!

Suzanne

I understand, Suzanne.  If I worked full-time, I would never be able to participate on SS as much as I do.  I work 17 hours a week, so this allows  me more time to listen, etc.   I can't listen at work, no speakers, plus I answers phones and am always extremely busy.

With tax season upon us. my husband has already threatened to  kick me off the "good" computer so he can do the taxes.  I can listen from another computer in the house, if it's up to working properly, but no singing or uploading songs.  We have no plans to upgrade it.   We would like to upgrade the "good" computer. Even it has it's problems.

I'm on two singing sites and rarely go to the other one anymore.  This one keeps me busy enough. I'm addicted to it, actually! LOL  I think there are more songs submitted in the winter months, too.  When the weather gets warmer, I think some of us like to take a break from here and enjoy the warm outdoors. That won't be till late June in Cleveland though and it often still snows in April and even May sometimes.

Thanks, Connie! You're right, it is like a part-time job and is very addicting. I enjoy it a lot, and I like how it challenges me to learn new songs.  I still plan to listen sometimes but can't really comment as much.

I enjoy KSK as well but it is really slow on my computer sometimes. I like to open the songs in multiple tabs  to make it easier but that makes it very slow there (and sometimes here).
