I have tons of CDs that I want to rip to my laptop to use for DJ'ing (for example, roller derby bout on the 15th of this month) but I'm wondering if there is some simple software someone maybe using that will allow me to 'organize' it ... I could probably just get away with using Windows media player but I'd like to be able to set the fade out and in times, etc.  I also have a TON of Napster files and would LOVE to move those to lappie but have no idea how to do that!

Any suggestions?

OTSDJ is what I use for my dj/fill music (the new version also does karaoke & video as well).  It will automatically analyze each song & determine the perfect fade in/fade out points to make a smooth transition between the two like you would hear on a radio, automatic beat matching, some good processing to balance all songs into the same level automatically - but it does cost.  It can actually take two songs from the SAME cd & mix & blend them on the fly.  Completely worth it to me.

They also have a free program as well
http://www.otsturntables.com/ it works much in the same way as far as mixing/blending, but don't have all of the dj features like the dj program.

Here is also a decent free dj program.

PHEW! Yup, does cost. Definitely something I'll be getting but since I just chewed a HUGE hole in my karaoke budget with conversion, I'll have to wait a couple of weeks.  Might have to temporarily use the free one until I can afford the OTsDJ. It was on this computer, in fact...so the guy I bought this from probably used it.

Thanks for the suggestion, as always.
