For laptop or desktop? Or if you wish, with a PCI slot or PCMCIA? Perhaps you want USB? please, tell us more... Emu would be an excellent choice: http://www.emu.com/ |

If your laptop has a pc card slot, I would recommend this card: http://us.creative.com/products/product ... duct=10769 But for a Pro audio that supports asio... the Emu cards would be the best option. Make sure to select a model that has the letter m like 1616m, the D/A converter is excellent and out perform the M-Audio card you mention. This card is one of the best and is a bargain for what it offers: http://www.emu.com/products/product.asp ... duct=13552 In fact, the Emu cards with m are the best card on the market for a lower budget, even when spending 2-3 times on M-Audio, it just don't match. |

My laptop sound card was getting worse all the time so I purchased a Turtle Creek Audio Advantage external sound card for $30 and my sound has never been better. http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/micro/home.aspx |

I am using a behringer U-Control 202 and love it. you can get it at musician's friend for around $29. |
