This came from the new advice to kj's thread, but it's basically an idea of what gets played in which areas, if possible, keep track of your playlist - easier on more of the computer programs, disc base would need to write them down. how many songs did you get in a night between what times. If you don't list your city, then it woun't do any good - trying to get a general idea of what gets sung on average where. This was a weird Sat night about 3 weeks ago, not our typical regular crowd but still avg age was about 30, 59 songs done between 9-1:30: Runnin' Down A Dream - Tom Petty Sara - Fleetwood Mac Hold On Loosely - 38 Special Why Not Me - Judds Mellow Yellow - Donovan Bless The Broken Road - Rascal Flatts Hunger Strike - Temple Of The Dog Hemorrage In My Hands - Fuel Should've Been A Cowboy - Toby Keith Happy Together - Turtles Nothing Else Matters - Metallica Baby Got Back - Sir Mix Alot Son Of A Preacher Man - Dusty Springfield She's In Love With The Boy - Trisha Yearwood A Love Bizarre - Vanity 6 I Melt With You - Modern English Come To Bed - Gretchen Wilson VooDoo - Godsmack I'd Rather Ride Around With You Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice Painted On My Heart - The Cult Way You Make Me Feel - Michael Jackson Enter Sandman - Metallica Seminole Wind - John Anderson Addicted - Enrique Iglesias Shine - Collective Soul When You're Good To Mama - Queen Latifah Spirit In The Sky - Norman Greenbaum Every Little Step - Bobby Brown Midnight In Montgomery - Alan Jackson Killing Me Softly - Fugees Paul Revere - Beastie Boys Lady - Kenny Rogers Goodbye Earl - Dixie Chicks Alive - Pearl Jam Copperhead Road - Steve Earl Kerosene - Miranda Lambert If You've Got Love - John Michael Montgomery If You're Not In It For Love - Shania Highwayman - Highwaymen No Leaf Clover - Metallica Hello Darlin' - Conway Twitty Ramblin Gamblin Man - Bob Seger Hotel California - Eagles Should I Stay Or Should I Go - Clash My Own Prison - Creed I'm The Only One - Melissa Etheridge Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You - Lauryn Hill Kiss An Angel Good Morning - Charley Pride Jeremy - Pearl Jam Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morison Masochism Tango - Tom Lehrer Away From The Sun - 3 Doors Down Tonight's The Night - Rod Stewart Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off - Joe Nichols Redneck Woman - Gretchen Wilson Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard God Bless The USA - Lee Greenwood Devil Went Down To Georgia - Charlie Daniels This next night was more normal as far as music selection about 2 weeks ago on a Fri., 60 songs done between 9-1:30: Hurt So Good - John Cougar Have You Ever Seen The Rain - CCR Humpty Dance - Digital Undeground Ramble On - Led Zeppelin Would - Alice In Chains Land Of Confusion - Disturbed Stray Cat Strut - Stray Cats Before He Cheats - Carrie Underwood Hot Rod Lincoln - Commander Cody Creep - Radiohead Hotel California - Eagles Twist & Shout - Beatles No Excuses - Alice In Chains I Want You To Want Me - Cheap Trick Feel Like Makin Love - Bad Company Don't Stop Believin - Journey Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This - Eurythmics Cowboys From Hell - Pantera Play That Funky Music - Wild Cherry Train Train - Blackfoot Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard And All That Jazz - Catherine Zeta Jones Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd Don't Speak - No Doubt Turn The Page - Bob Seger Hell Is For Children - Pat Benetar Good As Gone - Little Big Town Pickup Man - Joe Diffie Shadows Of The Night - Pat Benetar Shoot To Thrill - AC/DC Mustang Sally - Rascals Mickey - Tony Basil I Got You Babe - Sonny & Cher Baby Got Back - Sir Mix Alot Hurt - Johnny Cash Black Velvet - Alannah Myles Hell Bent For Leather - Judas Priest Bless The Broken Road - Rascal Flatts Whiskey In The Jarro - Metallica Tonights The Night - Rod Stewart Hey Jealousy - Gin Blossoms Man I Feel Like A Woman - Shania Twain Strawberry Wine - Deana Carter Bad To The BOne - George Thorogood Gimme 3 Steps - Lynyrd Skynyrd Sister Christian - Night Ranger Patience - Guns & Roses And When I Die - Blood Sweat & Tears Love Song - 311 Stuck In The Middle With You - Stealers Wheel Folsom Prison Blues - Johnny Cash Rainy Day Women - Bob Dylan You May Be Right - Billy Joel Enter Sandman - Metallica Hip Hop Hooray - Naughty By Nature Rock N Roll Highschool - Ramones Grease Megamix Dead Mans Party - Oingo Boingo Walk - Pantera Bring Me To Life - Evanescence I'll add tonights list tomorrow. |

Great list(s) Lonman. It shows what's the same and what's different. I've started to keep my slips from previous shows. After my show tonight I'll fill you in on what's being sung (but not by night and hours) Thanks |

Seeing Purple Rain Reminds me I sang 2 songs in 4 1/2 hours. Opened with Good Hearted Woman and during the fury had an inspiration. I told Greg put me in 7. I aint never seen you do Prince. One of our reg gals (a student here at UNC went nuts when he title came up on the big screen. I motioned her up and she grabbed the other mic. We nailed most of it then I started getting tired Forgot how long that song is but it's one of my all time favorites. If you have never done it you have to try it at least once. It is one of the best songs ever written. Later Greg did Purple Rain with the lights real low and everybody holding their cell phones up. It's amazing how an old artist can still take over a show.. It is about 8am here and after about 5 hrs sleep I'm still wired from last night. I made a deal with one of the owners for Thur nights Just to get started $100. Reg here now is $175 and I told him this is he only bar I would do that for Intention is getting 3 nights. He agreed I dont have any problems with raises when we pack out In fact we could demand about what we wanted. Also bar owners are coming in and checking us out and a bar 30 min East wants us bad. Thats another reason for being totally up front with the people you contract for. About 2 hours later my old mind kicked in and it dawned on me Why didnt I tell him we would do both thur and fri for $150 I'm going to call another owner mon with that prop. They are going to move a wall to expand soon My goal is 3 nights/week for $600 which is very probable in about 6 mo.. Opinions? Ideas? Edit These are pre coffee ramblings of an old mind. |

We get a few drop-ins from other rooms that can handle the vibe. Last night I was missing a few key regulars including the main rappers. There was also practically no dance action so singers were adjusting their slips accordingly. And like zombies that won't stay buried, up came both Before He Cheats and (gasp) Picture. I got my player to save but can't figure out how to cut and paste so I entered it manually, listing authors on some things that might not be easily identified. There was a lot of interesting segues and juxtapositions of styles though. If this thread is still going I'll put up next Thursday which is more typical of the room. |

That's great all keep it coming. I forgot to list my list as I have to hand write them. I see some familar songs in the lists provided -- remember list your 'general' location as well don't have to give any club specifics for those 'on the lamb'.... And also how many songs you got in your hours you work. |

My club's in Oregon. Looks like we got 62 in. We go to 2:30am and start is whenever I have three, which can be anywhere from 9 to 9:30 or even 9:45. I can't remember exactly last Sat but it was on the late side. The owner is fine with this, and it gives the room a bit of a break since drinks go up as soon as karaoke starts. Before that it's the jukebox which is on relentlessly. But once in a while I'll throw a dance track or two on to start if I'm asked to. Never during karaoke... I started out doing this and it was too confusing, and irritated the singers. |

Lonnie Roxbox has a logging feature which I forgot to turn on. I thought I could pull up karaoke in access which has 6 or 7 months of shows and after loading my mind totally died. Next show I will turn it on I would like to figure out a way to log karaoke and fill music. |
