Hi everybody. I'm new to the forum and actually kind of new to karaoke all together although I worked as a KJ back in 1992 when all this was just starting.

Now I'm in the process of setting up a mobile karaoke to take around to hotels in my area (eastern coast of Spain).

Here is my question. I'm going to have a large screen behind the stage and I'd like to be able to project live video of the person singing with the karaoke text overlaid on top. Do you have any idea how I could do this?  I know there is software that will allow you to replace the plain background of CDGs with images but they don't let you put live video fed by a camera as far as I know.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Well all the products that I knew of are long discontinued - mainly because the manufacturers use different color backgrounds & sometimes their own graphics in between & it would mess with the screen.  But what you want is actuall a Vocopro unit
http://www.karaoke123.com/vcdvm100g1.html the model number is Vocopro DVM-100G.  The OLD ('89-91 era) JVC & original DK cdg players had video mix capability as well, but guarantee you will not find any of these machines anymore.
Like I said it's no longer made, but you may be able to do some searching & find one used.  They went for around $400 new.

In my X pub, like most, there was a projector mainly for sky sport.
I simply mounted a video camera on the ceiling and fed it to the projector.
Worked a treat. Simple is good.

Shes looking to actually put the live video of the people under the words, like the old pioneer laserdiscs where the words appear over the video, but with live feeds.

Do you have any idea if it will work with a pal signal?
