There have been some times when the owner of karaoke.com (host of Jolt Forum) has attended those as well & I believe some of the Sound Choice heads have met up as well - not sure on this though. But know they both have (along with Chartbuster & Stellar in the past) donated stuff like shirts, gift certs & cdg's for promo gift giveaways. Some of the hosts of those have even went as far as to have t-shirts made up & recorded performances for souvenirs.
I have had a couple very small scale ones where some of the members from Oregon to West Canada & a couple of the WA members have met up. About 15-20 people. But some of the ones I mentioned have gathered from all over & upwards to 100 people.
I'm thinking in terms of fairly big here - nationwide - with displays by equipment companies; workshops by professional vocal instructors, marketing people, etc. I envision a 3-day weekend with Friday sign in, get your room, do your own thing Friday night; Saturday a.m. visit displays and talks to reps, attend workshops Saturday; maybe banquet and karaoke in multiple rooms with guest hosts in the evening, etc. Sunday big brunch.
Be nice to have some sort of fundraiser for a deserving organization - raffles for things, prizes from sponsors, etc.
I've gone to a number of conventions in the past related to singing and everyone looked forward to it every year - it was through a big group in California and we'd have upwards of 1000 people every year.
Like I said in my OP, I have no idea if there is interest but I think it would be a great and informative yet fun, fun event.... I'm anxious to know if there is interest.
