Is there anyone out there who can erase the voice track from a CD. My daughter will be performing in two weeks and it would be best if the music is as close as possible to the original. Help me if you can I'm feeling down. And I would greatly appreciate it.........

Dont worry, someone will be along to tell you your options.
Consider though...
If the backing is identical to the origonal... she may be judged on the origonal.
Food for thaught. ???

What is the song and where are you located? And when do you need it?

I'm located in San Diego, The song is Empty Pages by JADE VALERIE. This Album was released in Japan 2 weeks ago. I can FedEx the CD. Her gig is on Apr. 4 and I need the finished track sooner for sound check and all. Thank you for the response Karen!

Kind of an obscure song ... You may have problems finding an accompaniment tracking for something new like that. I'll look around but hopefully others will see this and offer you some assistance as well.

I don't think anyone has come out yet and said this authoritatively -- you cannot "erase the voice track from a CD".

You can do some vocal elimination, in some cases some of the time, but rarely will it sound anywhere near the original in clarity or quality.

You need a backing track, as Karen said.  A search of Amazon and Rhapsody finds not even the CD track itself, nor any songs by that artist at all, so I don't think it is likely you will find one.

Is your daughter performing for a contest/audition?  I really wouldn't recommend using a "vocal eliminator" to create a backing track as they never do a good enough job IMO.  Far better to have a custom backing track made.

You could try sending an email to Jeff Daniels.   Not sure if he could get a trck done in such short time

She is performing in a wedding reception.  I was just hoping that I could find somebody who makes karaoke tracks.

It has been said many many many times.

I heard it once on a  track I thaught was midi. Wasnt.
The producer laid the track perfect for vocal elimination.
Was very a rare occasion.

She should be thinking about plan "B."   That's a really new song.    Two weeks old, and in Japan.   We may never hear that song.

Thank you all so much for all your inputs. Plan B is in motion, I found a guy in Lost Angeles who  can create a custom track.

Thank you swoop. The guy in LA did it and turnaround time was 48 hours. Plenty of time for  set up/sound check/.
