What's up with that?
It seems a few people like to make statements lately for whatever reason.
I know one thing, if you pretended all along to like certain people, and their music, and then later retract that sentiment, it's obvious that something isn't right.
I don't like to be that way. But I also don't like being a fluffer.
Eventually, you just run into a song or a sing that you're just not comfortable to comment on. I do alot. And I'm sure the same goes with any listeners on my stuff.
Big deal!! I can live with that! Why can't others?
Throwing baby tantrums or making childish, personal, hidden, but public statements makes one look stupid and ill-mannered IMO. I don't play those games.
So people, buck it up and be adults if you are!
Life's too short to worry about not being the King or Queen of SS.
Was I on a rant?

Well shoot. I want names, dates, details. Come on Perry, dish! Perhaps you should have posted this in the 'Super Secret' forum where we all gossip about everyone in detail. LMAO
Before anyone PM's Phil... I'm kidding.
I have no idea who or what you are talking about, but it seems there will always be drama where there are people. Feelings are tender, fragile things.

I've just noticed a couple things lately and it cracks me up!
Heck, all you have to do is click on a song or two and read description lines to figure out what I mean.
But yes, there's got to be a little something that affected me too, but not in the way that the person might think, and I'm here to say.....Thanks alot, now I know who you "really" are.....but I kinda figured that before, so how could it affect me immensely?
Hell, if certain people want to get a point across, there's always the pm button.....sheeesh. :newlol:

I'm sorry that I had to do this, but I can't mention names, that just ain't right....but they know who they are, and they need to get a freakin' life and quit relyin' on SS for psycho-therapy or a dating service.
I DON'T like cry babies......I'm not LOOKING for a woman......I NEED to quit telling so much of my personal life......and people WHINING for others to listen to them is just so darned funny to me! If your song STINKS, it STINKS! Why do you want people to lie to you?
I appreciate when people don't LIE to me. I'm just here to have fun, but I'm not gonna boost someone's ego if a boostin' isn't called for.
Damn....I'm startin' to be an a-hole here, and I've always been as cordial as humanly possible with everyone. :withstupid:

Totally agree Perry. Which is why some of us won't have anything to do with a venue like SS, and are getting sick of the bboards as well. If adults can't put grudges aside, look at music as music, and keep their agitation within the confines of their heads without feeling compelled to type out, and act upon aggressive vendettas online (instead of ignoring those they dislike) it's ridiculous. Seems some believe they are the ONLY individuals with probs in real life, intense emotional stuff in their heads; well we ALL have them, yet some come here to ESCAPE that stuff, while others have allowed the bboards, and SS to become dumping grounds. It doesn't matter WHO hates WHOM, what do adults tell their own kids regarding those they dislike ? IGNORE THEM, right ?
I have internet access for FUN ONLY and outgrew participating in, even enjoying watching the other BS when I left America Online where such behaviour abounds (AOL is now free for those that wish to fight one-another rather than hide in a moderated venue taking sucker jabs when possible). I left AOL in favor of moderated music venues. I'm here for the singing and singers, a few I get along with, I chat with IN PRIVATE, I try to keep it light and fun personally, but as you've noticed Perry, the babyish BS is evident, and has permeated beyond the showcase as well.
Why can't people ignore those they dislike, and respect the fact that some dislike them too STAYING AWAY from one another instead of stirring up dirt that has fallout all of membership here must often inadvertently view ?
While the mods have been great in terms of cutting all of us slack, personally, I'd like to see stricter moderation in ALL of KS. Some have requested "ignore" be respected. It clearly isn't working !

You've been doing well Grasshopper ! A few slips, however for the most part, you are learning.
Funny thing is, for those that think others care about each and every nuance of their personal life America Online *IS* just the place. It has something for EVERYBODY, and more ~
Topics that others can share in are fun since most are more than just singers, but if such topics can't remain neutral it gets annoying.

Very well said, Steven. I couldn't agree more.
I see this kind of drama all over the internet. It's rampant and sometimes vicious. I try to avoid it myself. Sometimes as an impartial observer I get sucked in and before you know it, I'm upset. Moderated forums can really help curtail the mud-slinging. But some of it is so subtle it goes by undetected.
Looks like I picked a good day to visit. :D

Sheree, We all have other interests, some sailing, some painting, some photography... some poetry, some racing, some motorcycles, etc...that stuff is fun to see in the lounge IMHO.. Where ALL should be welcome assuming the topic is respected and the camouflaged "digs" stay out ~ Regarding the showcase, I thought it was ONE thing, and that was singing ? Dunno
It seems that the difference between the very large subject/ topic venues that appear to work, and those that go haywire in time due to behaviour is extent of moderation. Enough people given enough time, chaos ensues in non-mod venues.

Other interests????? Surely you jest.
Yes, yes, true dat. The day emotions cease to get the better of us is the day we all become computers ourselves. As long as we live and breath we will tread lightly on other people's feelings. Some people are better at this than others.
Not sayin' who.
And NO. I'm NOT talking about YOU. Yes. YOU. You know who you are.
The showcase SHOULD be about one thing. The only way to enforce that law is to disable all the comments. Seems a shame to have to go to such an extreme just to babysit a few people who can't seem to get along.
But I'm not suggesting that. I'm just sayin'... people will be people wherever they are. It's pretty hard to keep things completely copasetic all the time.
Carry on.

Hi Perry.. I haven't noticed anything unusually unusual in the comments... but like what's been said before, wherever there are humans, there's bound to be issues popping up.. it's just life.. (which is a 4 letter word) and it being the internet, adds more grey areas.. example if someone's going through some crud in their personal life, they could unknowningly ( or knowingly) take it out on someone here...The day I can fully understand and feel fully comfortable about human behavior, will be the day I stop singing .. LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
Geez, hope I didn't offend anyone with my statement.. if I did, too bad... LOL

Let's see...
A group of roughly how many hundreds of artistic people having rough personal days feeling at liberty to use others in Karaoke Scene as their Scapegoats; All adults without impulse control, and the maturity to curtail such behaviour ?
What an absolutely DELIGHTFUL environment this would be
Mods, Please put me on the calender for the third week of each month. I retain water, feel bloated, and wish to reserve these weeks to bash others in here ~
Thanks in advance !
Nah, seriously though. There are days (similarly we ran into this in the Ebay rooms with people prematurely handing out negative feedback rather than sleeping on something during a bad day, and acting hastily rather than stepping away from a computer, and sleeping a mood off) that people SHOULD NOT be in such venues interacting with others. Sometimes we shouldn't be interacting in such venues due to bad moods.. We are responsible for knowing ourselves and how we interact. There are days ranking, and Critiquing are BAD ideas.. We can't be objective. These are days I won't offer a Critique, or even listen to somebodies work. We all have days we need to "chill".
(How could I resist this Joyce? I couldn't help myself, I got offended and have no impulse control)

It's the cruddy way of the world and there is no excuse for it. Anyone can be capable of it.. Perhaps some anti-lashing meds to counteract whatever anti-depressant medication one is under might help.... (How could I resist this Joyce? True Joyce, I know you didn't. I added to my above post btw..
We ran into this in the Ebay "feedback" community room ALL the time.. Also in musician critique-type forums elsewhere... There are days (for the lucky ones only periods of hours I suppose) we ALL shouldn't be near a computer interacting due to nasty moods, and other stuff in our life.. I've told folks, "I'm feeling pissy today, I'll listen to your song tomorrow". Heck it's honest, right ?
Biggest problem is like roadrage, Internet "chatroom" rage exists and it's easy to forget things we'd NOT forget assuming we were face to face with others. Where else can a petite female tell a male 4X her size to blow it out his a@@ without (in most cases) having to fear reprisal ? (that is assuming they aren't married, or intimately involved with one-another)
