Hi,

I've been reading a lot about Karaoke recently but I still don't get it How does it work when you have many Karaoke boxes (Rooms)? Like in Japan.

I think, you need a server to upload and copy your CD+G then connect that server to a Karaoke machine which is connected to the mic, tv and sound mixer. Am I right?

Also
How does the songs queue up? What happens if 2 boxes are doing the same song?

It's for a Karaoke bar, japanese style, purpose. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, it is appreciate.

Antoine

If the CDG is stored as somethink such as a video or MP3+G on a decent fileserver, then x number of computers can read it at once.

The easiest way would be to put stand alone computer systems in each room and forget about the server.  The problem there is that you would need one legal copy of each song per room.  If you did use a server, if the song was being played in one room it would have to be locked out of the system until it was done playing so that the same information was not in two places at once in keeping with copyright laws.  This is assuming that computerized karaoke is legal at all in the US.

Thank you

I'm living in Canada, I will look for karaoke laws.

Btw, the background video is also a problem, some system claims it does it automacly depending on the mood, some says it's impossible to put a video on the background.

Thanks
